Look at this. A Yamazaki 35 year posted in a private group for $85,000.

    20190424_214724.jpg

He got an offer for $65,000. Nuts!

Hell, I'll jump in with mine, too! I rarely add anything to my whiskey, but I'm not a huge fan of Maker's Mark Cask Strength as it sits - the bottle was gifted to me by some good coworker buddies. The simple syrup is sweet, but has a liquorice root flavor to it. If you've had a proper absinthe, you know what I mean. Picked this stuff up at the Old Forester distillery. Adding a couple drops takes a little of the rough toasted oak edge off and adds a little sweetness and depth of flavor. Not a bad combo!

We have to stop telling people how good this stuff is before it becomes expensive and hard to find.

I still have some of my first bottle of Booker's. My wife got this for me for our 3rd anniversary, nearly 2 years ago. This is probably the slowest that I've gone through any bottle, but it's been fun to sip on from time to time.

I get a distinct peanut aftertaste from an opened bottle of 114.
Love it though, need to go find a backup bottle.

Tried the 10 year at a restaurant a few weeks ago. Intense, but very good.

Nice! That'll be my next WP purchase. I opted for the Bespoke Pinot Noir finish over this a couple weeks ago, and I love that stuff. Liked all the WP I had so far.

Let us know how it is when you break into it!

Finally found it locally. 29.99 This stuff is pretty darn good!

    Sweet and Orange aromas
Pretty sweet sugar/vanilla dessert taste to it
Finish doesn't seem to linger to long. Not a mouth coating bourbon compared to some others.

I will be grabbing a couple bottles next trip for sure. A steal at 29.99 for sure.

Congrats on the find! Now just imagine how good it tastes for the $23 it costs around me! Enjoy!

I had a local spot that always only had one bottle on the shelf for $25, so I'd just go in and pick up one bottle (assuming they were doing that to limit the customer).

Whelp, now they don't have any and I'm out :angrygirl:

The search is on...anybody in the Charleston, SC area know where I can find Buffalo Trace and EH Taylor small batch? I'm headed there tomorrow

23 would be nice! I've only found it at one store currently so 30 it is for me. Which is fine for now. had a couple refills too :D

Beg the manager! or ask nicely for a case to be ordered? I need to get back to Charleston at some point. The base package store there always had handles of Jack for 29.99 tax free! I need to restock!

I did lol, I asked if they had any in the back thinking someone maybe grabbed the one they usually have on the shelf. No go
Then I pleaded and asked for EH Taylor as well since it comes from the same place. They said their distributor forewarned them of low stock levels but they got my phone # just in case :fingerscrossed::fingerscrossed:

As for Charleston, we used to make weekend trips several times a year but the hotels have just gotten extremely expensive. So we're doing Airbnb this time

Nothing too exciting... maybe a little rust
It's crazy to me that you guys have a hard time find EH Taylor anywhere in the South, I can even get the small batch at Costco around here and at tons of other liquor stores. Same goes for Buffalo Trace, full shelves available everywhere.

But then last week I made an extra hour side trip to the one Total Wine in Seattle that said they have Mellow Corn but apparently it only showed on their website because they had special ordered one case and it was already gone.

Yea it's weird how easily I find some things that others can't and vice versa.

I will say though, I went to a store in Atlanta towards the beginning of the year and they had tons of Buffalo Trace and EH Taylor. And it's only two hours away :notsure:
