Competition towing w/tacoma

So I was curious if anyone with there trucks have done any type of competition towing with there trucks. I was at some truck pulls this wknd and they are always a good show. Mostly dodge diesels and then the Pros with alcohol.
But I have not seen any type of small mid size trucks doing this. We have all wondered what are trucks can pull and I have read quite a few posts on people pulling the max with there trucks.
So can anyone post up if they have done some competion pulls. Also list some weights,aftermarket power,what motors,and what type of truck,ie. 4x4 w/locker,crew cab,extra cab or regular cab.
Also list if this is something you would not do or are curious as I am. Granted I know it would be some what hard on the truck but I would say no harder than some of the offroading we put our trucks thru or the weight we haul on a regular basis down the freeway.

Not sure how the classes should go but here is a idea, and anyone else that might want to add or change feel free to.

Stock Classes with factory lockers
1. 4 bangers
2. V6
3. V8 (Dodge Dakotas)
Modified Classes
1. engine mods ie. super chargers,intake mods
2. after market lockers front and rear
Pro class
1. unlimited mods
2. frame modifications
3. engine swap ie. diesel motor
4. nitrous

 

Were you at the pulls in Ukiah on Saturday? A couple of my buddies went up and did some pulls. Doubt you would be able to do much pulling in our trucks.

 

Yep I was there. It was a blast as always. But I was thinking though it would probably would half to be a smaller scale of the pulling trailer that they have for our trucks. They do it for the 4x4 quads. SO I know they can make a smaller sled. I just havent seen one for the mid size trucks.
We race our tucks and mud bog them. So why not comp pull with them?

 

LOL, leave it up to the big boys to pull. I highly doubt there is any interest in a mid-size truck pulling class.

All your gona do is break shit. Save your mony and get an old tractor if you want to have some fun IMHO.

 

Now I did mention of having a smaller sled to pull. NOT the ones that the big boys pull with. I know that our trucks are not capable of pulling the full size sled.
The 4x4 quads do this as well with a smaller sled.
I am curious as to what these trucks are capable of pulling for weight comparison as to the full size trucks.
And ya any one can break stuff if not done right. But with the right amount of driving skills and what not I think if there is a sled for our trucks I think we can do better than some of the other mid size trucks out there. ie. chevy,dodge,ford.
So Im just wondering if anyone out there has heard of a smaller sled or seen one.
And as for breaking stuff we go offroad with our trucks and break things. That is the part of doing it right to learn what not to do next time or to change how we do it.
