    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
The bushing IS supposed to be compressed to the point it is just shy of the sides being even with the top washer.

Yup, my bet would be missing a washer. From bottom up should be shaft, dust cover, washer, bushing, tower, bushing, washer, nut. I don’t think the instructions show it correctly for the bottom side of the shock tower washer.

Alright... op, your missing a washer.
It’s the same issue @bot102 had.

Go back to your takeoffs, specifically the bushings, I’ll bet that you have a bushing and washer fused together still. Get them apart, then take the shock off the truck and install the washer.

I may be wrong and this was only for the rear, but is there a spot for an allen wrench on the top? That way you can tighten it.

    Did you do the install??
Did you forget to install the inner bushing? The one inside the top hat?
It looks like you only have the top rubber bushing installed.

Yup. Same issue as me. Except the dealership installed my kit and left it out. So I had to go back and get it fixed, trying to get the installing dealership to give my money back

Just looked at my other shocks I took off. All I had left over was the bushing that sat on top. The bushing under the tower is in there.

Preaty sure there are some for the front also. But the ones with the machines down sides are nicer since you can get a better grip and not worry about mud in the hole or striping the hole

Yup. I remember how hard it was to get the top nut to bite on the stem too. Mine are the new 5100s too idk if that makes a difference or not.

You cound have put a jack under the lca and put some pressure on it,just enough to slightly compress the spring, and not so much that it lifts the truck

I'm thinking OP forgot the bottom bushing/washer under the upper mount... remove, and try again!! should go

shock shaft/washer/bushing/upper mount bracket/bushing/washer/nut... in that order. also check that your spring is not twisted on that rubber upper mount... there is a seat that it sits in.. only goes one way.

I did that and it was still barely enough to get it to bite.

.... still take it apart. When you took the assembly out the bushing is holding the spring pressure.
