I've got an aluminum front Was a good idea at the time when I thought that's all I was going to do for a while. Probably build a steel one in a few years.

On another note, missed work yesterday because my sinus infection got the best of me. Two shots in the butt and 3 prescriptions later, I'm back at work today and haven't blown my nose once. I'm a believer in steroid shots now. My butt still hurts from the shots but I'll survive I think. Haha.

 

I ALWAYS take the shot. If getting a shot is an option, I'm picking that one. Always faster than meds, home remedies, etc etc...

 

Found that out first hand. Probably one of the most uncomfortable shots I've ever gotten but it was worth it.

Its not useless, but overthinking is a real thing. There comes a point where you just have to listen to yourself and make a decision. Lol, not to mention you are looking for "useful" information on public forums and facebook of all places. I would trust most of that information as much as gas station sushi or a condom made by a company that produces swiss cheese.

To get on the bumper argument, it did save me 80 pounds up front. But when you consider everything else added, 80 pounds isn't all that much. My winch alone is around 80 pounds. I think if I was going to do aluminum anywhere, the front would be the place though. With it being high clearance and all, doubt it'll ever take a significant impact before skids do.

 

Just remember to buy a full size spare if you go with an uncommon size. Not being able to get an emergency tire locally on a road trip or something would be a bummer

 

Rotational mass is definitely I larger factor when dealing with vehicles. Hence the reason a regear is so popular. Get a regear and just buy 35s.

After all its your truck make sure you do what you want and need. You are always going to get stupid answers on here and a lot of good ones.
Just have to learn on TW there are people that answer questions based on what they heard even if it is wrong.
I use my truck in a different way than you do so my answers will lean toward the way I use mine.
The only info I can offer you is ST Max are better on the highway if you comparing them to the STT Pros. But the STT Pros are far better off road.
Just take the good advice you have gotten from everyone and ignore the rest.
After all its you that has to deal with whatever you decide not the trolls.

 

I'm disappointed in the size offerings of the Pros...the 315/70/17 being 12.6" wide kills it for me, I need something slightly narrower on my next tire. The Maxx has a 285/75/17 that is 34" and 11.1" wide which would be perfect...
