We all sympathize with your situation, but Toyota corporate is not going to suddenly grow a heart.
None of your reasons are Toyota's fault and expect them to point out that fact.

I mean maybe the welds were faulty, they rusted, and thats why it cracked.

MIGHT BE are the key words to that. Sounds like everything is more a precaution

I know this sucks but go through your truck after and make sure everything is in place and tightened.
    I did this.
I missed that one bolt was missing and my drive shaft impacted the bell housing of my transmission. It’s luckily cosmetic but could have been way worse.

Thanks I guess but there are other things that are there fault and I am working to get this addressed. Either way it looks like I could be out tens of thousands in possible lost revenue, might need to buy a new truck, used truck I can swap critical components onto, etc, etc, etc.

Also, for the first time since buying my first Toyota in 1985....I am looking at other options. Either way I am sick over this and don't really give a crap about what anyone thinks is right for Toyota corporate or not.

There is no way they will be extending this through to 3rd gens at this moment in time. Reasons why: Toyota always does a slow rollout for these Corrosion campaigns, why? To keep up with all the trucks brought in and also because no way in hell are they going to open up and say their brand new generation of trucks is still sporting a crappy frame.

They’ve done a similar thing for the whole Takata airbag recall, rolling it out a few year groups at a time.

They're not going straight to being open to replacing frames through 2017 MY. It's going to be a recall to apply the coating to the frames as preventative. That's what i've been told by a family member that is a certified toyota technician with years under his belt (not just oil changes and tires kid). They're all being trained on the new equipment now.

As with anything, things can change over time though.

That would make sense then. It will be dumb though if they use the same Noxudol crap they’ve been using, though I think that stuff tends to work much much better as a preventative (which is what it’s designed for and per their own brochures) rather than a rust stopper.

    @Hashc93,
Thanks for the ‘heads up’ on that!
I’m no car mechanic but do what I can as far as maintenance on the truck. Is there anything else I should look for that would be somewhat obvious to the layman, such as I?

Nothing I can think of just look it over if something seems off then just say so and have them look at it

Well, I went to get my truck today. I crawled underneath and inspected what I could with a layman's eye and it all looked kosher. I hopped in the cab to move the truck and almost rear ended a parked car as the brake pedal almost hit the floor before the brakes engaged. I drove the truck through the lot, pumping the brakes as I drove, hoping the fluid needed to run through the new lines, it didn't help. I left the truck at the dealer to hopefully pick up Monday night....
    To be continued....

Mine was behind the tranny x-member on the passenger side. Little tiny inconspicuous spot that the hammer practically fell through. 0411191942.jpg

I've read many stories with the same issue...someone has to park it for you to pick up...how do they not notice that the brakes don't work. Unbelievable!

Agreed, and they park it in such a way that they think I'm just going to hop in and leave without inspecting. This entire process has been a chore to say the least. I understand, Toyota is stepping up and I appreciate that, not many companies (if any) OWN UP these days! That said, the dealership could do a better job communicating with us, the customers.
I originally took the truck in for state inspection, which it failed due to frame rust. Team Toyota (my dealership) says it will be 60 days and give me a loaner. Day 52, two days prior to disassembly, Team calls and informs me I need new tires for inspection. I tell them to replace the tires with the same and also to save the one tire which had considerably less wear (due to a blowout) and replace the spare (which was original). Day 54, Team calls me at 11:45 AM and tells me they are starting to dismantle my truck and I need to leave work and remove the toolbox from the bed before disassembly can begin. I leave work, losing 3 hours pay, and remove toolbox. I notice they have mounted the new tires then I ask if he replaced the spare...NO. I ask where is the tire and they have no clue, a Team employee absconded with it.
I'm a tad disappointed with Team to say the least.
