I have a 2008 TRD Sport, currently has air shocks in the back and Bilstein sup front...that is how I bought it. I won’t be towing a lot at all, mainly just driving around through the woods trying to get more into off roading as well as MAYBE overlanding in the future. Currently just want to have fun maybe do some little jumps and get through ruts and crazy dips no problem. I am beyond over whelmed with the amount of options out there. Looking to do something relatively simple at the moment as I might want to do long travel in the future...maybe even alter the suspension I have right now (I have the Bilstein s for the back too) I’m wondering what y’all setups are and what would be the best for a little heavier off roading, but also still being able to drive comfortably from Florida to Colorado. I’m still learning the terms as I just got this truck 2 weeks ago so sorry about the vagueness. I’m just really overwhelmed with the amount of options and am very unsure of what to do. I know I definitely want to do 2 in lift also.

Cheapest, "ok" quality lift would be:
    • Bilstein 5100 shocks all around - $400
    • Old Man Emu springs - $175
    • Deaver add a leaf in the rear - $115

First off what’s your budget an do plan on adding any armor?
A very solid an proven setup is billy 5100s w/old man emu 887s and medium duty dakars for the rear with 5100s or 110s and spc upper control arms to get a good alignment. Removal of the sway bar will really help with ride quality on washboard roads if your towing I’d keep it.
Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road will be able to set you up best she’s very knowledgeable an they have outstanding customer service.

2" of lift will also make your current tires look smaller

Just noticed the last part at 2in
I’d do 5100s an ome 885 coils w/ dakars an 5100s our back. Budget friendly will get you the height you like an perform well.
If budget is no concern get kings or ads all day long. I have icons an really enjoy them as well. I’d stay away from spacer lifts for sure.

As many have said so far, really think out what your long term goal is with your truck and what all you will be adding in the future. Save up the $ and buy a quality lift that will support what is needed.

I've been at this for 25 years and still haven't figured out the "perfect" suspension. You try, you learn, you try something else, get it pretty good and eventually find a combination that works mostly and fits your budget. But it still has a few irritations so you fix those and figure out you made it worse and have already sold those old parts.
