    the way I've understood it is that he can raise any dead person or animal so long as their body isn't obliterated (like by fire). Some of the dead in his army look like they've been dead for a long ass time.

    I was thinking the same thing. I guess it's more about strength in numbers. It's not like the dead who had great war minds are of any benefit, other than being another fighter, since the NK controls them all.

    I just googled because I was curious. It's the Night King, his White Walkers, and then the Wights(why the spelling difference I have no idea :notsure:). Then you have The Walking Dead where they are Walkers or Biters or how Fear the Walking Dead refers to them as 'The Infected'.

    Why can't anyone just say Zombie!

    I thought that Joffrey was buried at the Sept, so he would have gone up in smoke anyway. I'm not sure about the other Lannister kids though. :bananadead:

    But yes, as long as there's a body it can be raised technically. Up in the North where the stiffs would have been freeze preserved, those guys might have died a century ago or more.
