I am up and running with HP! My only problem is the earliest I could get the dyno shops and my schedule to line up is May 9.... I guess we may have to return to stock to dyno.

    not much yet!
thank god im not the only one that dislikes the shifting setup on the auto trans. I'm a noob when it comes to tuning, and have been monitoring this thread for someone to start fudging with the shifting. Glad to see someone has started! Keep up the good work!

Yes. Note, tables below are not from a Tacoma, just toyota.
Also there are tons of MAF cal resources online. here is something from youtube
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NmvQHXN4mkg

tons more on youtube as well.

    For MAF, basic calibration >
Take diameter of original tube, (lets say 85mm) square this value
Take diameter of new tube (lets say 105mm) square this value
Take new tube value divide by old tube value - should get around 1.39xxxxx
Select your MAF scale G/sec, and multiply it by 1.39. Which should bring you near the necessary calibration.

Check your fuel trims. In my opinion you do not want to make adjustments off your trims right away. You need to check your LFTs more than your SFTs (first)
do a short drive, try to sweep between 10 and 100 g/sec over the course of 3-5 miles.
Check your LFTs > check positive or negative trims. check where your LFTs change (from pos to neg, or one number to another), and check your G/sec range for this area. (lets say from 20g/s to 50g/s your positive trim is "+10%") then you can take these trims and reduce or increase these ranges by it.
After doing this a few times you should check your combined trims and check that you're within 5-10% (10% being pretty high) either pos or neg.

When you change camshaft timing, you may also notice changes in AFR. You should not make changes to your MAF scale to compensate
Rather I've found it more effective to make changes to your MAF comp tables
    (these)
    (/128 for 1.0 value)
This will change your calculated load and resulting fuel.

    MAF trim.jpg

You can also make fine corrections for valve angle with these, if needed (there are multiple of these in 4D sets)

    MAF 2.jpg

    Some other useful tips
When tuning ignition. Be mindful of your ignition compensation tables for valve angle. If you notice sudden drops in ignition that don't reflect what you are seeing on your primary ignition tables. this may be the cause. Second to that, if you are getting knock spikes after changing VVT, this may also be a reason.
I prefer to zero these tables out, Tune VVT, and primary ignition tables, then make adjustments if necessary for knock in these tables.

When tuning VVT, check your target vs actual and ramp rates for the solenoid. You will find power in there I promise it. But not really going to share how right now.

    ignition VVT.jpg

If you notice you are only getting knock under heat or during hot days, you can make adjustments to your ignition multiplier table for ECT/IAT
(note these values on axis may not be completely accurate)

    iat IGN.jpg

There are also several bit activators for tables that are very useful when dyno tuning to eliminate tables are variables (temporarily)

    activation selector.jpg

That should be enough to chew on for now.

Just wait until you guys start hitting throttle reduction from airflow and load calcs. That is where the real tuning begins. :)

It doesn't really become a problem until you get into boosted setups.
if anyone does plan to boost their truck I highly recommend using a TRD cal and going from there. Do not waste your time with a N/A cal.

I'm running something very similar as a ram air to the front port on my aem momentum.

So has anyone made contact with someone able to make block off plates for removing the spaceship? I'm in to buy a set at some point.
