That’s what I was trying to explain probably closer to stock feeling with the 4.30s. But yes you are 100% correct I have a New Mexico public education so I have that going for me.:bananadead:

I've never used a TrueTrac, but I did research them a lot when I was considering one for my old first gen. From what I read, as long as both rear wheels are on the ground, both wheels will spin when you start to get stuck. And if you get in a spot where one wheel is off the ground, you can simulate this by lightly pressing the brake pedal while giving it some gas.

Like @MattCowsmasher mentioned, though, it would be a good idea to get some recovery gear. Some traction mats or a winch set up.

I get about 17-18mpg with my 4.56 and 32" tires. No armor yet.

This is true I’m not that coordinated so I engage the e-brake about 3-5 clicks to perform the same method.

Nice I get 15 with pizza cutters an armor. With stock gears she can’t pull a greasy string out of a cats arse. Getting 4.88s soon an bigger tars.

Who the hell is getting 58 MPG AND HOW?!

I'm constantly between 14/15. Oddly enough +8000' MSL and around 40F it consistently gets 19-21. I have yet to figure that one out.

When I first put on the 265 S/T maxx's, my truck felt so sluggish. I could barely use 5th gear on the HWY. The gears made such a huge difference.
Someone else just posted this video earlier today...3rd Gen but still is the same concept to me. Auto transmissions just keep the RPM's too low.

Ya the 6 speed is nice but I’m a 2nd genner also. I’m not worried about milage just want some power back. I’m freaking stoked 4.88 might be overkill but I’m doing 35s at some point.

Especially with all your armor, 4.88 will be awesome

I'd rather over gear than under gear

I hope so I don’t ever plan on a bedrack or tent so we should be set.

Clearly those people only drive downhill.

As far as the altitude goes, my guess is that the MAF senses less air, so the computer puts in less fuel, so you get less power, but more mpg.

Best mileage I ever got was 27, driving from Steamboat Springs to Denver via rocky mtn national park, with a motorcycle in the bed.

    4.10 gears might not be enough , I would go 4.56 !!!
