Yeah. I have about 8 sets of Hex keys... but for Torx I only have screwdrivers, which don't work. I need an L key or something else for that angle. Haha. Going to Harbor Frieght. I need em anyways.

Ok holy shit.... How are you guys doing this?

Torx socket is too long to fit in here to get the angle... And regular Torx L keys don't have enough power. I don't wanna sit and hammer it, or it'll strip the bolt. I bought a "stubby socket T40" and it was cheap steel and stripped.... My bolt is still ok, but not this Torx.

Mine are painted and tight AF. Like. Super tight. What a god damn joke.

Guess I gotta take the tailgate off to get the right angle

And stripped it. Holy hell. I took the tailgate off for a proper angle, nope. Not budging.

Is this thing welded on? This is freaking ridiculous. I don't think I've ever stripped a bolt in my life.

Sigh. Who wants a tailgate theft prevention device?Mines not going on. Lol

@xguntherc Did you try and hit it with PB blaster or anything to try and loosen the bolt? Hopefully this isn't happening for many other people.

Lol I gave it a few smacks first to loosen it up. I didn't have any PB cuz I recently moved and my shit is everywhere.

Taking it completely off today, Dremel a line in the bolt, and using a huge impact flathead. That should do the trick. SoB isn't going to beat me.

Edit. She was stubborn but I got it off. Thx again man. Awesome product. Screw thieves.

Mine arrived over the weekend. Going to snag some primer & paint to pseudo-color-match. Looking forward to the added security

Got mine painted and installed. Great security device! Now they have to get through the tonneau cover, locking handle, and this.

Not my best painting effort. The color matched Dupli-color spray can's nozzle splattered something fierce. Even the wife said it sprayed more like a dry wall applicator. I'll probably be the only one who notices.

    Thanks OP!!
