The dirt is ripe for the taking right now up here in Bellingham. Ask me if I bought the Taco to match my bike... I dare you.

how do you like the DPX2 on the smuggler? I have the '19 with the standard DPS shock, which seems to work fine for me

I take apart the whole rack...just kidding. The bike has a dropper post so I lower it and I can take it out. When I put it there I release the dropper and the seat applies pressure into the bar so the bike doesn't move at all, also making a bit more difficult to steal lol

Haha thanks for taking the dare. I happen to like that shade of blue, and my two favorite pieces of gear (bike & truck) happen to be offered in that color, so it all worked out.

Howdy! I had a DPS on a previous bike, and as I found my self riding steeper/harder/bigger over the last year, I found I needed to increase the pressure a lot (even with bottom out spacers installed) that I lost a lot of small bump compliance. The DPX2 seemed to buy some of that back. Plus... I mean cmon... I needed to match the fork / post.

Does anyone have any experience with either of the following racks:

    A) 1Up + RakAttach Swing Arm
    b) Rockymounts Backstage (also swinging, but with the swing arm built in)

    1Up + RakAttach:

    Rockymounts Backstage:

I like design of the 1Up rack better than the Rockymounts. However, you have to buy the swing arm separately with the 1Up, which makes the whole package more expensive. I'm mostly curious about how far away from the truck these type of racks extend (the swing arm adds a bit of length). Has anyone who uses these types of racks found the whole thing to be too long for maneuverability, etc.? Also - I see that the RakAttach by 1Up comes in 3 sizes. I'm not sure what the right size for the Tacoma would be. I can bust out my measuring tape, but I thought I'd see if anyone on here has any experience with that product as well.

    Thanks in advance!

Yea man owning a home is a great feeling. I've always hated the idea of how much money I gave away through renting. If I had to do it over, before I got married I would have van lifed it...

    Some stuff
Its usually called Tamper proof, or loss prevention hardware.

I have stuff that uses keys like a locking lugnut,
And other are as simple as torx, or allen with a nipple in the center.

In itll keep honest people honest...
But, in reality, if they want it, they will get it. Just not in the span youre getting gas, etc.
Same goes for little lock tumblers and these other racks.
But, at the end of the day, whatever helps you sleep better at night....

    I learned years ago...
Someone cut the top of my z28 convertible, to steal a cheap radio(convertible, ans top was down most of the time, deep south Texas)... just started leaving the top down, never had another problem, with that car...
    Same with my Jeeps...

haha yes gotta match! I initially thought the DPS was going to be garbage and I am surprised how well it works on the smuggler. My Bronson has a monarch plus rc3 so i thought i was going to miss the having the extra reservoir on the bike.

How often do you get to have a trail to yourself the whole way out and back? Got to have a race with the rain from top to bottom.
