I think it would be very apparent to you, especially after 1k miles on 105 if the ECU got reverted to stock.

My original post said, it drove as if the truck was no longer on 1.05? Helpful response though

You said you weren’t sure if your ECU is still on 105. I’m saying that it would probably stand out very clearly to you if it was back to stock... or maybe I misunderstood your post

I can’t read an ECU just by driving the truck. I can make a prediction based off of the behavior of the truck at best. I drove 2 miles from the dealership to my house, the only thing that fed this post was the lack of an aggressive tip in. Some days the truck drives smooth, some days it breaks traction off of the line. My post serves as a general question before using my computer to properly identify the ECU calibration.

It is my understanding the tunes are undetectable. My guess is it will look just like it did before you flashed, even if the new tune is still present.

Once you've got your reg key all you have to do to get your tune files is download and install Flash Manager as tune files are no longer sent via email.

You won't be able to tell if you are on 1.05 or stock tune by rearing the calibration id. What calibration were you on before you dropped it off?

I thought I read that at some point but wasn’t sure. Figured I’d plug in and see if anything came up. Thanks for saving me some time.
I have my calibration ID saved on a notepad on the computer, don’t remember without looking it up.

If there's any doubt that 1.05 isn't on there anymore, just reflash it!

Here's the error. You can see in the second screen shot that I have no trouble connecting through tech stream but get the error when executing T-0034-18.cuw

In the drop down menu for selecting which J2534 device tool you need to select open port 2.0 which is your tactrix adapter and then should be good to go.

Thanks for the quick reply but I don't have a tactrix cable and it's not an option in my drop down menu. I don't have the OV Tune kit yet but am getting ready for it by applying the TSB first. Bought a cable off Amazon that works fine for everything but for some reason I'm not able to apply the TSB. GTSAPI_TGD.EXE got quarantined by McAfee during the TS install and I'm going to try to move it out of quarantine and back into the file system and see if that helps.

I wouldn't use that cable to flash the tsb as you could brick your ecu, if you've already bought the kit and are waiting for it to come in the mail I highly recommend to just wait till then that way if something goes wrong you can unbrick the ecu yourself.

WTF can I not feed the trolls? Because someone is wrong on the internet and it's serious business.

Friction with the inside of the wheel? You mean the drum, right? That's different.

This is a problem how? To do any real service on disc brakes, you have to take the wheel off too.

Both systems are hydraulic from the master cylinder to the wheel. Technically both are mechanical braking systems actuated via hydraulics, because the stopping action is created by pushing 2 surfaces together to create friction. Contrast that with regenerative breaking on a hybrid or EV, where kinetic energy is converted to electical energy by switching the electric motor into a generator.

ABS can be used with either disc or drum brakes. ABS, VSC, ATRAC, MTS all use the same systems, so no clue why you mention ABS in this discussion.

@TacoBella I'm interested to hear more about switching from Tacoma to Ranger. I'm considering doing the same. Point me toward some info or PM me. Or just post here in this thread since its basically a giant cluster of everything the way it is.
