The 5100s I put on my 4runner looked like shit after a year, I ended up taking them off and painting them. The zinc coating is useless against road salt. Figured if I go that route on the Taco I'll spray them with bedliner or something right out of the gate.

    EDIT:
How silly is it for me to wait for a set of sliders to go up for sale on Kijiji? Guy from Windsor had a set for sale around Christmas but they didn't last long. Haven't seen anything since

Something showed up at lunch while I was home letting the dogs out.

Little bit more :sawzall::welder:for the rig

I think with kijiji wishes it just comes down to how long can you wait for them, along with how hard do you kijiji?

    edit:

speaking of sliders, i checked 4wheel parts out real quick to see what they have
and what in in the world is this (site calls it; DV8 Offroad Boat Side Rock Sliders - SRTT1-01)? I'm still pretty new to "Off-Roading" *cough mall crawling cough* and i'm more attuned to that kijiji link to be your typical rock slider

Those aren’t a true boat side. Usually boat sides you cut the rockers out and gain a huge amount of clearance. Those are just styled the same way but without a kickout

    upload_2019-4-25_14-24-55.jpg

Also those sliders from kijji don’t have any gussets are curvature on the frame like angle iron style bracket.

It's cheaper to just buy and make . Plus then you aren't limited . If you cut too much etc.

What do you need cmc for though? Are you going bigger tires?

If you have the plates for a template. Then you should not cut to much. If you are doing it correctly, you cut to little and go from there. Of course its cheaper to make everything yourself. I cant, yet. So I bought em.

Do not really need them right now, happy with the 255's. Just going in to get my 886's installed shortly and figured I could get a few things done at once. I will want these in the future, might as well :cookiemonster:

That's a classic. I was just repeating that to a guy a work this week. He wanted to borrow my pencil and i said the same thing to him and he didn't know how to respond. Lol

The Kijiji sliders look alright but to me they aren't gusseted for support/strength. After a few hits they would eventually bend.
The boat sliders I have never seen. I kind of like the idea of plates underneath for a slider but it would have to be welded out of one single piece with no bolts.

If you have a grinder it's easy to make .

The problem is if that template isn't enough then it's no good. Like if you need to cut more to clear.

Unless you're going bigger no point in cutting .

I check a couple times a week, more often when I'm working. I'm not in a rush and its more tempting to pay TFS than drop $1500 on sliders shipped from the states but if a deal popped up on Kijiji, I may not be able to refuse.

Yah I offered that guy my PS3 but he wouldnt take it, not sure what his problem is....

Life and learn...never thought of cleared coated, might look better than gravel guard

I am sure all these guys have paper and pens but the template for the splash guard is in high demand. Might not be as easy a grinder :bored:
