    Im getting a 2.5 inch leveling kit for my 2019 tacoma. I want to know how big of a tire I can fit without having to do any cutting / modifying etc. The Toyota dealership told me the largest they would put on is 265/75/16. Can I fit 275/75/16 or even 285/75/26 without modifying anything else??

    275=minor plastic fender well trimming

    285=minor plastic fender well trimming, heat and remold, and CMC

    So technically the dealer is right if you don’t want to do any mods. I’ve had all 3 sizes

    I have 285s, no minor plastic fender well trimming, heating and remolding or CMC was required. Pretty sure you'll need spacers if on OEM wheels though

    Forgot to mention about the importance of offset on the wheels but from what I gather, the majority will need CMC. I didn’t rub at all in the beginning but when I had my wheel fully turned and the tire stuffed, it rubbed. Have you ran into that issue?

    My wheels are 17X7, I installed 285/70/17 Nitto tires on with a 2" front and 1.5 back.
    I did not have to mod, cut heat anything.
    But when you go 285/75!!! the tire will be a little taller than the 285/70. however you have a 16" wheel. it may make a difference once installed, how much I don't know. The shop where I had my wheels mounted they mounted 285/75/17 first for me to see, and it was not good, and therefore I went with the 285/70. Perhaps your tire shop can do the same for you.

    BE CAREFUL!!

    there is exactly 2.5 inches of shock travel left stock at full compression. you may or may not have problems with a hard hit damaging your strut as you are right at the line and no one knows if the tolerances are spot on.

    Might want to think about putting a washer the thickness of a quarter ($0.25) under the front bumpstop to make sure this doesn't happen.

    Just saying

    Can you list your tires model/size and wheel choice (specs) for reference?

    Thanks!

    Side note: Since you have a 2019, most likely with Toyota Safety Sense (TSS), you should look into getting the recall performed (if you're affected) prior to getting larger tires and the leveling kit installed as there's instances of dealerships refusing to perform the recall with a modified truck. The owner's manual even states to turn off TSS if you install larger tires than from the factory.

    Yes Ridge Grapplers,
    Don't remember the exact price, somewhere around $205 per tire, plus installation $20.0 and alignment $150 for a year.
    I really don't know about the caster set up!!

    Unless you're changing where your lca hits its bump your 2.5" lift isn't going to allow any bigger tires than stock.
