Mine likes to fish, when they're biting. Otherwise she loses interest fairly fast, lol. But I sympathize; I lack the focus to fish for more than an hour at a time.

I could spray/roll some of it on top of my shipping container, was thinking of a white/lighter color paint anyways. Grey will blend in more if you look from uptop and probably have similar effects of heat reflection.

Not sure what exactly how to test it after that. Would get plenty of rain but not much wear besides that.

 

Do you put it on blocks to keep it off the ground? Like a shed?

 

I don’t think I will only because while it might rust it won’t rot and I only plan to have it where it is for a year or two. If I end up deciding it’s great and want a more permanent set up I would probably do something like that.

 

You know what you need... to buy my boat to go along with those fishing rods

Good Friday morning everyone. Anyone have any cool plans for the weekend?

 

Cool will certainly be the word tomorrow morning at 5:30 AM when I am unloading my boat to troll for trout and salmon all day at Sunapee for the first time this year. Wet will be another word! Will bring the heater for sure.

Morning all!

Taking the truck for a sticker tomorrow AM, then renting a dump trailer and making a compost run. Maybe two, if I've got enough time. Then distributing it to the beds and tilling it in. Anything that's left over will go into the section I'm 'reclaiming' from the lower lot and get tilled in there. Gardening weekend, basically.

 

After the long streak of non-stop chaos, and work... started my weekend at noon yesterday(well over 40 hours),

Took the big bike out to burn a tank of gas....

And currently posting from Dennis Port, hiding here this weekend.....

 

I may be in Dennis tomorrow afternoon, not sure yet.

Belated Good Morning everyone. Vermont Maple Fest on tap for this weekend and yard cleanup. Snow is just about melted.

 

There is a school of thought that it is not good to till gardens, as this breaks up the micro chains. The theory is, just layer the compost on top and plant in, the nutrients will spread on their own. (NO till gardening).

 

I follow that school of thought loosely; I layered a bunch of dead leaves & sawdust at the bottom of the beds when I filled the soil and have left the bottom 4 inches or so undisturbed since then. But the top few inches get a going-over every spring with one of these to mix the layer of compost that gets added on top. That gives me a chance to spot & pick any grubs/pupae/cutworms that have overwintered in the soil that I'm not interested in letting loose on the veggies, too.

Plus the chickens get a crack at the beds in the fall and the early spring, and do some 'tilling' of their own on the top few inches anyway, so when I go through and do it a week or 3 later it's not anything new
