Made the trip across town to RCI offroad to pick up the skid and sliders. Got some hiking on the way back to town and installed the skid. 2 1/2 years of ownership and FINALLY said goodbye to that air dam!!

After sitting in my garage for 6 months I finally got around to putting on my SEMA wheels. Got some Toyo open country AT2’s in 265/70/17 yesterday. Just waiting for my Carista so I can reprogram the TPMS

 

I'm looking to add something like this to hook up the 12V plug for my RTT LED strip lights. I'm not very good when it comes to electrical work. Can you point my in the right direction of how you did this and how you like it? Does it work if the key is off?

 

No, I did not want it hooked up to my tailgate. That's how I installed them in my last truck and sometimes it would stay on all night if I had stuff in my bed with the tailgate down. So I installed a small switch on the actual light housing. It's easy to find and I can just turn it on whenever I need it.

 

Added an aftermarket TRD Bro grille.

It ended looking good, but it was a tough battle to get the OE sensor cover to fit the Chinese grille.



Free advise for anyone with a front sensor planning to add a knockoff grille:

• Get the OE sensor cover; there are reports that the Chinese cover gets the sensor to act up
• I got the Chinese grille and OE sensor cover from MotorGenic for $150. While the price is right, apparently not all sellers and Chinese knockoffs are equal. The fit of this particular grille is not the best. MotorGenic sends you the stuff without instructions and leaves you on your own...until you threaten to return the whole thing; that finally gets their attention.
• There are sellers out there charging a little more for a knockoff grille that reportedly provide a better fit. Save yourself the time and aggravation and buy from a more reputable seller.
• If you are OCD, just buy the $400 OE grille

 

I installed heated seats just in time for Summer! I used two sets that had dual switch (left and right on one switch) and installed it so that I can control the back and butt separately. So now L is Lumbar and R is Rump.

What did you use to remove the left over adhesive?

 

Nice, those look good. That nut/bolt on each side was a little tricky at first. I just installed the Caliraised side shooter ditch lights. Really impressed with the quality and output. Not the greatest pics but here are mine.

 

Looks real good! I wanted to get the same "side shooter" ditch lights but I couldn't find any covers for them and the cops near my work are notorious for ticketing the small things such as no front plate, tint, exhaust, etc...

I have the 4Runner TRD PRO wheels. They are matte black, didn't want the shiny Tacoma PRO wheels. I would like it less flat and more satin. Has anyone tried to wax their matte wheels?
