I thought these 3rd gens had synthetic from the factory? Can you switch back to conventional?

Toyota oil toyota filter. This way they can’t tell you that the off brand oil is what messed up your engine if it ever goes. I run my oil to 7500 though

I have been using Napa 5/30 with Toyota filters.

Change around 3000 miles or so.

Does Toyota oil have plastic chips or similar that show up under high magnification so they can tell This person used Toyota Oil ??

You can always switch back to conventional. I have no idea why anyone would ever want to. The wear prevention at a cold start with synthetic is miles and miles better than conventional.

The whole 'synthetic will leak through old seals' thing is bullshit. It all has the same viscosity.

Also good luck finding a decent 0w20 in conventional. Go ahead and run something else in an engine designed for 0w20 if you want to buy a new engine.

My morning sucked. I put less than 100 miles on these and pulling out of my driveway today, this.

Looks like the threads at the bottom of the shaft pulled out of the lower mount.

It was saved by the lower mount design on our trucks that thankfully held the truck up enough to roll back in the driveway and not crush my fender.

Hopefully the threads in the shock shaft are not ruined and I can replace the lower mount.

Guess the old stock shocks and spacer lift go back on for a bit longer

The plan is to go out this weekend for some wheeling with @HomerTaco I will just have to make due with old stuff.

The only thing I can think of is that the lower mount came loose while adjusting the top collar. I had them at full droop, the threads have graphite lube on them to ease adjustment and the lower mount is supposed to and looks to have red thread locker on it.

FWIW I agree with you. If we have to start treating everyone like special snowflakes I may as well just exit stage left. Granted I've been pretty well behaved on this forum.

I have to disagree. I think it’s enthusiasm.

Considering he’s had 3 chances and had done well but missed each time I can understand a bit of disappointment.

Realistically, the prize was just ok. I’ll post up a pic of the swag box I received.

To me it was just the fun of a little contest. I’ve been fortunate to win a few of them on TW over the years.

@Taco critter I certainly encourage you to keep trying, you got my vote.
