    I don't mind it. They actually run that clean. I'll bet if you started sending samples to a lab every 5k you wouldn't get told to change it until 20 or 25k.

    So I'm starting to see a pattern here. I got my hands on the FSM for the 2006 Tacoma.

    The 2 wires they've fixed already, are on plug E4 of the engine harness which plugs into spot A on the ECU. Plug E5 is also part of of the main engine harness and plugs into spot B of the ECU. The main engine harness needs to be unplugged from the ecu to allow them to separate the cab from the frame and engine. Guess which plug the shift solenoid A runs to?

    E5. :eek::evil::typing:

    Seems who ever was responsible for removing plugs E4 and E5 just yanked on the wires till they came out. At this point they should just fix all the wires/pins on both those plugs to make sure this doesn't keep happening.

    Or the previous p0351 ignition coil A code shorted something out in the ECU.

    Give me a second and I'll look up the Chiltons manual for you for that...

    Oh you don't have to do that. The FSM shows that SS-A goes to pin 11 on plug E5. I wasn't joking.

    I'm actually impressed. I didn't think Chilton's got that into it with DTC codes. I thought they where just basic maintenance manuals.

    For some cars it has absolutely zero. I was actually surprised it had this much. I get it for free being military... I guess I get a perk here and there.

    That's crazy even states 9/05 (2006) Tacoma's. My truck was manufactured in 9/05. Some parts I've had to get where listed for 05 only.

    I'd be a paycheck that no manual or instructions were used. Unplug everything that you see, start lifting the cab off the frame...go slow and see what shit you forgot to unhook. I'd bet money thats their "manual" on how to do it.

    I am suprised they didnt even bother taking it for a drive or at least scan for codes though

    They've put ~120 miles on it over the last 4 days.

    I'm sure with my existing 2716 code illuminating the CEL makes it difficult to make sure it's good, but it seems they don't take 2 techs for a ride along and use a scanner to observe the conditions and monitor for any other lurking issues that are waiting to show up.

    They just called me back. They want me to come pickup my truck, and they won't do anything further.

    I asked them to do a resistance check on plugs E4 and E5 to ensure there are no further problems with those plugs. They're deciding whether or not they'll do that and get back to me.

    Still better than what you did to their truck :anonymous:

    I'm dreading taking my truck in for the MMW radar sensor service campaign/recall. Are there any decent dealers in the area?
