Some lady backed into me 2 months after I bought my truck. WTF

She was looking at her bumper and said "oh your truck is probably fine" without even looking at it and i said "no it's not fine". Then she said "I just bought this car and it even has a backup camera. I can't believe i hit you." SMFH

Did you tell her that a reverse cam doesn’t help if you are looking straight ahead?

 

That sucks. At least she has insurance. Sometimes bad things happen to good people.

OP, try to pop it out from the inside out by removing the plastic cover, apply some heat to the metal before doing it. It might help tremendously, trust me!

 

Make sure you use a sledgehammer for a satisfying “pop” sound too.

 

It’s obvious that she is a Beaver fan. I suggest you fix the license plate frame when you fix the tailgate

 

She probably was a dirty Beaver. lol.

 

If it makes you feel better someone backed down the side of mine in a parking lot before I made my first payment....

Actually, that looks very easy to buff out. Looks like paint transfer or marring of the clear coat. The dent could probably be easily popped out too.

 

You can't expect people who don't even pump their own gas to know how to drive.

 

I have been rear ended twice in the first year of owning my truck...after the first one I put a big steel bumper on, the second ladies Porsche did not end well.

 

Mine got rear-ended at 1 month. Then again almost a year to the day, next street over. Both perpetrators had the same insurance.. so I called the same body shop and said remember me? Let’s do the exact same repair again! Although mine was bumper and trailer hitch. They both went under me...

 

HAhaha... We are lazy here in Oregon.

 

Sorry OP, this really sucks. It seems like you can’t have anything really nice anymore without some asshat doing their best to either steal it

Of course it's just general stupidity lack of caring, awareness, whatever. Totally the norm lately. But can't pass on a change to rag on Oregonians for not pumping their own gas. I didn't even know that until I went there last summer, got out to pump my gas and someone about tackled me.

Do yourself a favor and add 3000 to your estimate for repairs. Why? That’s how much value you lose when car fax reports your truck was in an accident. It just happened to us trading in a Camry that was hit in a parking lot with door skin damage.
