So I'm sure you guys have seen the commercials for the new season of American Choppers. But this time the show will be different, with a very different "vibe" to the show.

The first version of AC on TLC was canceled last season after the Father fired Paul Jr. and Mikey (other son) also left. The show went on for a little after that with no real direction, but it got canned.

So apparently Paul Jr. decided to start his own bike building company, in these very troublesome times.
His shop will be close to his dads shop, and I guess they will make it look like they are competing against each other.
He has brought back his old working buddy Vinnie, to work with him, as well as Cody and his brother Mikey, and maybe others.

It's reported that Sr. and Jr. haven't talked to each other in over a year or two, or not much at all. And they are also engaged in a lawsuit against each other over a ownership dispute of OCC. When Jr. was fired he still owned 20-30% of OCC. I'm not sure what the dispute is over.

I will definitely watch this, just to see what's going on and hopefully will see some interesting bike building and less fighting. What do you guys think, will you watch it?

It will be on this Thursday the 12th, on TLC. 9/8c

True, but compared to other reality shows it certainly is more real. Has a real family and business and bikes being built.

I used to like the show. I'll give this version a look, but I don't have my hopes up. It's got to be staged, how can they do a show like this while they are suing each other? I always kind of thought Jr. was a pompous, entitled ass. He COULD work magic with steel though.

ive been to their shop and met them in person a few times at various bike meets from americade to the bike show at the jacob javits center in NYC. the fights are legit. there is a crazy tension between the two of them and they dont talk or even stand near each other at meets. IMHO Sr. is a crazy ahole and instead of emphisizing and being proud of jr. he points out all the bad things. its like hes jealous. I will watch this. Go Jr.

theres a reason occ has a high turnover of employees and its not Jr. Notice that the guys havent done any of the fun goofing around they used to. Sr. just has a sour attitude and i think it has alot to do with greed. With all the money these guys make Sr. still charges people admission to his "vendor tent" even when you have to pay to get into the venue.

on another note i do think jr. is has a rich boy vibe but hes always met a deadline. but theres a reason mikey left too. too much negativity from the father. Vinnie and cody left because of sr. too. now theyre going to work for jr. so my guess is jr's not all bad

Well I hope Jr. builds bikes on his own better than he builds grilles. I saw his show where he was re-designing a Coleman grille. It looked pretty cool (black with diamond plate), but I saw one in person a couple weeks ago in Dick's Sporting Goods and it was a cheap piece of shit. I can't believe he would put his label on such a piece of crap. It was disappointing. It's a shame the family had a fall-out. They started from nothing and probably exceeded their expectations. I guess money isn't everything, but it helps.

Yeah that show IS fake, with actors on TruTV channel. That show is pathetic.
But certainly AC has no actors.

I think both Sr. and Jr. are to blame for this separation.
Going over the majority of the comments on YouTube, most people side with Jr., and don't have anything nice to say about Sr.

I actually think that Jr. is one big primadonna, and his work ethic is very questionable. But I certainly don't think Sr. is Mr perfect too.

gotta wonder why sr. kicked mikey to the curb too.

its also like he hired that other manager guy and the manager and sr. sat in the office and complained when jr. came in a bit late or left early for the day. it started as a father son co. and father never did near the work jr and hired some guy to help run the company while jr had no say. i think jr. made more money with endorsements from lincoln, lugz, etc. than sr.

i think jr is a primadona too but like i said in an earlier post, he gets his work done and makes the deadlines.

    Absolutely, I strongly agree!

I'm not sure, because I don't personally know Sr.
But I think the reason why he hired a head manager of the company is because he could? lol
He certainly has earned his position and still does a lot. He is probably tired of having to direct all of his time and effort to run the company after spending all those years running the other company, the steel company. And after starting this one and getting it to the point where he can hire someone with a fancy Business degree to help run it, why not do it?
I see this all the time in other businesses, when the owner gets older, he starts to hire more people to help run it.

He's just less involved in those aspects of the business that runs it day to day, that he can hire people to take care of those areas of it. But is still at the top of the heap making important decisions.
