Good to hear Jimmy. Did you request a buyback from Toyota first?

I let the lawyer handle everything. I assumed it’s will be faster coming from someone that knows the law.

Good for you Jimmy, My guess is that when Corporate realizes you’re serious about this, have everything well documented and have your attorneys involved they’ll likely bend over and submit. It’s cheaper for them in both financial and publicity costs.
Assuming you’re sucessful, do you have an idea what you’ll be replacing your truck with? Please keep us updated as I’m sure it would help others
    considering the action you took.

    Good luck to you!

I am a truck guy, I had tundra before and it’s was a fun truck to drive. Assuming toyota can’t fixed my Tacoma I’m consider getting a tundra 4.6 liter

Same here. It seems to vibrate when you just slow to a stop without brakes, and the nature of the vibration changes as the truck downshifts. So I'm going with transmission. Further, I'm going with "characteristic of the truck" since it seems many folks have it, and maybe I'm overthinking it. I'm just going to drive it. I'll mention it at my first service, but it's not severe, and I'm guessing nothing will ever come of it.

Mine shook the back of the truck when braking from about 60 on down, In my case they did the TSB and replaced both axles which were
undersized at the shoulder that centers the drum.
That TSB killed the vibration and so far it’s been fine. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that they corrected the problem on my truck. Others may
have vibrations not caused by the rear axles. You should have your truck checked by the dealer and documented as such.

730 miles, and I had the TSB done around the middle of March.

Do you still have a little vibration when braking the last 50ft or so? I had the TSB done as well and overall it fixed the issue.

Not really that I’ve noticed, but I’m used to driving Cummins powered trucks so I’m probably not the best judge on vibrations. My last toyota was a ‘92 but I knew that my ‘17 had something really wrong. No complaints as of today.

Hmmm, I’ve got a trd or, and they turned drums at 1100 miles. 2900 miles, and it’s baaaaaaack!

Oh well, I’ll fuss at the dealer when I go to gripe about the TSS collision system false warnings. Yay. :(

I’ve had the same issue since about 5k miles, finally got them to acknowledge it, went in for a “1 day fix”, turned into a 31 day debacle.

They thought they had a TSB for it, then found out it applied to non-TRD differentials, they used some parts to try to remedy it. After taking this photo for this thread, their write up sounds a bit fishy as they had to wait to get permission to install those parts, no "mistake".

You can replace “very slight” with “washboard”.

Okay. I want you guys to try this. I am one of those who is experiencing the shutter feeling too in my 2019 off road. Today I loaded up my box with 400 pounds of pellets. To my surprise, my ride back to my house there was no shutter braking. NONE. SMOOTH!! It was awesome. If some of you folks try this and compare. Let me know. Maybe there’s something wrong with the brake proportioning valve.

Yeah this reinforces my belief that it's a driveline/pinion angle issue. With the weight in the back, the axle moves higher changing the angle on the pinion. I also have a feeling that it's exacerbated by weak leaf springs causing axle wrap would also change the pinion angle as the axle is shifting back and forth.

I was moving some household stuff a few months ago and I was curious if it would help with the vibes but I didn't notice a difference. Also did not come close to 400lbs in the bed though...

I have vibration in rear of my 2019 OR only 150 miles. (When coming to a stop). Have had vibration like this in most every Taco I've had going back to '09.

I can attest to this. I had a couple hundred pounds of soil and fertilizer in the bed and it seemed to smooth out. This does not explain the warping/Out of round rear drums though.

I know this is an old thread but I had the same problem and the problem were the front rotors. I ended up replacing both rotors on the front and new brake pads. Haven't had the same problem yet. It seems like truck pads don't last that long. I went through a new pair of pads within a year and that's crazy considering all my previous cars have lasted at least 2 years.
