Are there many fish in brooks? I just figured they would die in most outside of the spring when things are running. But if they are there, how big are they? The reason I am interested is I had some guy last year trying to check my brook for fish and wanted to fish it. I've never seen anything bigger than a leaf in there and thought he was crazy.

Also maybe what I consider a river you consider a brook. The brook I am referencing in my story doesn't run part of the year and never gets over a foot deep probably.

Spent yesterday and last night sanding and staining the master bedroom. Got two bedrooms done and just need to main area and I will be done, well besides a couple more layers of poly. Been using a palm sander because I am just more comfortable with it, but gonna need to use a real floor sander for the main area. The bedrooms aren't that big and took me around 4+ hours each using stupid hand sander. On the other hand they are smooth as hell and I have no swirls or marks we don't want. Floor is going to be left beat up, so it doesn't look so new. I am just focused on getting any chatter from the sawmill out, or random bits of paint I've splashed while painting.

Darker looking floor has been set for a while and has one coat of poly. Lighter was the one I did yesterday and was still wet when I took the photo. Should match up in better light and once it dries. Using a super gloss for first two coats of poly than going to a satin for the 3rd. Using Fabulon which I haven't used before but have been happy with. Will do first coat of poly on room I did last night today and then a second coat on both rooms Sunday. Not sure when I will do final coat, but sometime next week.

It's maybe 10-15' across. 2' deep at most in the running water part. More common to be a foot. But there are lots of pools due to the dropoffs. I normally fish those.

They hold "wild" bookies. Wild Brookies do breed on their own in nature, but are all suspected to be of old old hatchery linkage now. Anyways. They're nothing to write home about. Maybe 4-8". It's more like hunting with those guys than it is fishing. They spook real easy and sneaking up on them is key. Plus it's tight casting in the woods there. It's a lot of fun

I have seen "micro brookies" 1-2 inches long when I used to hunt Little Stratton in Vt.
Some of the brooks were barely 2 feet wide and were at 3000ft elevation.
How they got up there is anyones guess.

    Good afternoon all,

Ya, that rumbled even at my house when it went down. @oly51, you’re in Swansea too, right? Probably seen you around. Surprised I haven’t run across you before.

Nice seats! and those stripes on the field really impress me, I love looking at the stuff baseball crews manage. I can barely get straight ones!

I'm just off of Pierce Rd felt it also.
I'm usually tooling around town in my MGM Sport or one of my Opels.

I started digging into the pop-ups on the Vette today. What a headache that has been. I typically run about double time from what I think it will take me, but I had dinner plans tonight and ended up stopping mid-work. I'll finish up in the next couple of days.

I have to get my Mom's mower working. She's got a big box John Deere tractor and it won't start. I've got it narrowed to likely one of the safety interlocks failing. Anyone here ever just bypassed them? It's 10 years old, and I'm the only one who ever uses it, so I'm not stressing one of them being wonky.
