Yeah. It’s supposed to stay on when you go from R to D

I haven’t opened up the dash yet to look inside. How is everyone preventing rattles? I assume the Car Solutions controller would rattle if not tied down somehow.

    No rattles on my end.
It’s packed pretty good once everything is plugged in

I don't think you'll have any rattle issues. It was a pretty tight fit for me. So tight that I want to go back in and rearrange the wiring to make it easier to push the radio back in.

Did you just shove the car solutions unit in behind the head unit space somewhere?

Yep. Just push it back and down. It’ll all fit. Very tight.

Installed Car Solutions 2 (CS) unit with no issues. To power the front camera, I connect the 12v + wire from the CS harness to the red wire integrated into the video feed cable supplied with NATIKA camera kit.

    20190427_142553.jpg
On the camera end of the video cable, I cut the paired red/black wires and connected the single red wire to the camera power input - all worked as designed.

To prevent rattles, I wrapped the car solutions module in 1/4 inch foam and stuffed in a small void on the driver's side of the radio.

Bottom line: Easy install with no additional switch required or separate camera power source.

Hey guys, so to confirm, this kit will work with the JBL system with navigation? (2018 TRD OR with tech and premium package to be specific). Also, is there a way to keep the front camera on for longer than 30 seconds? I intend to use it for wheeling and would rather focus on the trail rather than keep toggling the camera on. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

It will work as long as your radio is an Entune.

After you double tap Mode to bring up the cameras, long press the up button (maybe the down button too, I don't remember) until you hear a beep. It will now stay in camera mode until you press the Mode button. You can even switch between cameras and it'll still stay in camera mode until you select the Mode button.

Valleytaco, Car Solutions 2 unit is for JBL premium. I have it installed in my 2017 Limited with JBL Premium and Teck package. Regarding 30+ seconds on, tomorrow I'll give it a try.

    Hey guys.

I made a DIY video of a front camera installation on my Tacoma that has a TRD Pro Grille.

In addition, I’m trying to get to 1000 subscribers so please subscribe. I’ll be doing other install videos and car washing product reviews. I would appreciate your support.

Here are the items I used.

I bought the same Natika camera. Noticed you connected only the red wire next to yellow video cable. So you don’t need the red/black wires?
