Aluminum wiring is used for all transmission lines, and is more common for entry cable than copper is. Every power line you see running from a power plant, station and all overhead lines will be aluminum. Reason being is it is cheaper and lighter. It is not as good as a conductor so the wiring will be larger than is using copper for the same run. Aluminum is fine in a house as long as you use the correct hardware, especially when connecting aluminum to copper.

Definitely not a tool to be taken lightly, especially with how much the big saws cost.

I was cutting some joinery on a glulam curve with one, and I hastily lifted it out of the cut before the blade stopped. It bit into the waste piece and launched it 30ft across the shop into a stack of timbers.

A 6"x6"x6" chunk of Doug fir can do some damage at that speed lol, thankfully no one was in the vicinity.00100dPORTRAIT_00100_BURST20190220085732647_COVER.jpg

You probably blew the thermal fuse when you left the door open. It’ll cut power to the display, there’s a hi limit thermostat in the back of the oven that cuts input voltage to the main board.

Don’t leave the oven door open after its been used.

Yeah I figured that out this morning after watching some YouTube videos. Been too lazy to pull the oven out to check the resistance on the fuse.

Any smart home people out there?

The apartment complex I'm living in, while building my house, installed a Vivint Smart Home system yesterday. It was free and mandatory so whatever . . . I didn't really care about or want it. Now after 24 hours, I want one in my new house. I did some research on smart homes a couple of years ago and they weren't ready for prime time then. Any recommendations on smart home systems?
