Of all the ways I could have hurt myself as a teen: four wheelers, dirt bikes, riding mountain bikes, skateboarding, cal look bugs with shitty brakes 135 front tires and big engines a TV takes me out. I guess this explains why I hate TV so much

That reminds me of when I was little and was in the garden barefoot using one of these

Z1sKFvpcpEx_.jpg and managed to put one of the prongs through the top of my foot. It was a bloody mess. I remember my dad being impressed when I didn't scream when the Dr. Irrigated it with hydrogen peroxide. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

I wonder if many kids get stitches anymore. We all did, several times for me.

None of my kids ever did. My oldest daughter broke her wrist playing soccer but that's the only time any of them ever got hurt.

When I was 18 and my brother was 20, me, him and several of our friends were invited to a keg party by some guys that were "high up in the community". Several of us under agers went and took girls with us. When the other guys got liquored up, they told us younger guys we had to leave but our dates could stay. (Ya see what they did there). About 15 of them circled around my brother and said he and all his buddies had to leave. Well, he was never scared of anybody so he said "all ya'll can fvck off".
They jumped on him and I heard a gunshot (the sound of his ankle breaking) and I dug him out if the pile and hauled him to the ER.
My mom really enjoyed times like that.

I think kids don't know what they're missing, back in the day if you wanted to have fun you'd go play in the street or in the sticks. It was never planned it was all organic. There was no social media posing if you wanted to impress those skate Betty's you better have the balls to launch or drop in.

Even little kids these days have iphones and laptops. I had a wooden paddle with a rubber ball connected by a rubber band.

    I dunno, let's ask @MurphTaco :notsure:

I never got a stitch (until my hernia operation), and I have plenty of scars.
My Mom was like: "Hold still while I douse it with peroxide".
Then a bandage and "Run along now".

Had a motorcycle accident almost 40 years ago and ripped up my knees.
After the emergency room nurse got done with flushing and picking out all the grit, she started wrapping my knees up.
    I asked:
"Aren't you gonna give me any stitches?"
    She laughed. Laughed.
"Stitches won't hold in THAT mess", she said.
"It's gonna be painful for a few weeks, bend your knees as little as possible".
    A gross understatement.

I had a pellet gun and i'm shocked that I didn't rack up a fish and game violation. I guess back in the day people thought nothing of kids walking around with pellet guns in the street towards the field.
