Fuck! At the rate I'm going, I'll be lucky to get it clearanced tonight. My lift and jack stands don't go high enough, so someone (my wife) has to hold the bumper up while I start the bolts. That's after I get done cutting.

 

It was nice meeting everybody today and seeing all the nice trucks. Realy like that '83.

Yes sir, red first gen. Had to keep leaving to keep the son entertained, no Xbox out there.

 

Been there before lol. Last meet we did at Cars N Coffee I took my son and wife everywhere to look at stuff and get them hot chocolate. Missed out on breakfast tacos, too lol.

I was talking to him about that fancy self tuning antenna and I asked him how far he had reached with it. He said he has chatter with a guy over in Russia from his truck.

Acquired some of Marks 3'rd gen take offs at generous pricing, and being told this would work for me, off we went!
3" up in front with Billies and spacers


And 1/2" out back with a 1" block and new u-blots.


A huge change for me, and past what I was expecting! Biggo thanks to @LostHusker for a great deal and the labor, and to @MattCowsmasher for his able help there, and ALWAYS in helping me out make sense of things that will work for me. Beer and BBQ were consumed in the making of this project, but no pets were harmed.
And now, I can park next to many more trucks without embarrassing you!

What I wanted was "ground clearance" to make it a little more fun and safe on runs like the SATX group took in February. That's what is to my liking, and I will feel a lot better doing so.

We all forgot about the spacers Mark had! Was just expecting ~1" from shocks. I am trying to get used to it!

I got 2" more than I expected because we forgot about the spacers. I will feel confident fording little creeks! I thought it would be hell to drive, but not too bad.

 

I have to tell you that most everyone in this group is a great friend, and I just haven't met a lot of them yet. Could not ask to be hanging out with finer people!

 

Hah! And Nah! I will mess with little stuff, but that's about it.

 

And you don't "off road!" The next time I see Hidden Falls, it will be VERY dusty, with a nice gravel road to the mountain for a picture. Otherwise, I know of other tall hills! SATX Feb Road Trip or maybe a Beach Cruise, that is all that is in Little Big Red's destiny!
