95-97 is the best looking as far as I'm concerned, if you go to 98-00 well... I dunno why anyone would do that.

I just never liked how generic and car like everything got on the 01-04, it's still a great truck, but it feels less like what I know and love about the 1st gen

No I don't haha, I think I'm done with Toyota trucks for a while. Maybe a 2nd gen next time I feel the need for a truck, but right now I have a big trailer and a cruiser and that's good enough

I look at my 92 sometimes and compare it to my 04, and I think that Toyota didnt change much in 12 years, but they hit the nail on the head with what they did change. Mainly interior wise.
    1. Same 60/40 style seats, but adding a console lid to the armrest in the 04 is .
    2. The door panels. That vinyl tears apart and gets stained/grungy real easy on the 92. The plastic on the 04 wipes clean, and allows extra sound deadener to be placed back there, let alone the speakers/tweeters and side storage.
    3. Carpeted headliner/thicker visors/actual map light in the 04 is something Ill never take for granted again. The 92 just feels way cheap in that regard with the over use of vinyl and the cardboard visors that wont stay up.
    4. Rear speakers that you dont have to sacrifice the storage cubby for. Had to give up the cubby on the 92, the 04 gives the best of both worlds.

Those are the big hitters imo, as the dash layout is basically the same minus the cupholders which suck in both trucks.

It still sucks in the 2019 4Runner we have for a rental. Ones towards the front of the console, ones towards the back with the shifter in between.

Save the cash on the diff breather. Get 5' of 5/16th hose, two 1/2" hose clamp and a 1/4 npt thread barbed fitting. Remove the breather, install barbed fitting, slide on hose and clamp it. Route hose do desired spot. Install old breather and hose clamp. Donate the money I just saved you to to theesoricones big old fund for Taco shit. lol

Not to mention, in the 08 since its a 6spd mt, the shifter hits whatever drink you may have in the front most cupholder when in 2nd gear unless its a can. 2010cupholder_17af47a4215544de000e432615cf98d2704b6473.jpg

    *cup.

I have this stupid contraption. 61016082.jpg
Its as if Toyota let this slide cause it was from that one engineer who was upset cause none of his other dumb ideas made it onto the truck. They wanted to make him feel included by allowing this pos to make it to production.
