Old brakes and rear wheel.

 

Ok you going to clean them or just adjust?

 

This intake and spacer is 3" taller than what I'm currently running !!!! . Looks like I'll have to cut a hole in my fiberglass hood to get it to fit !!!


That intake is going to look awesome bolted up to aluminum heads !!!!!

 

I just cleaned them with brake parts cleaner and that helps

 

Don’t run the spacer

 

Pulled the rubber plug out and sprayed a lot in

Not really the best way to do it.
If you have drivin the truck since then the it’s just old brake adj.
Brake clean raises the “grain” per say and will give you a false feel.
So just pick the back of the truck up. Jack stands.
Put it in neutral.
Rotate the wheel and crank the adjuster until you feel slight resistance.
Hard to explain.
It’s a feel deal.
If you rotate the wheel and it’s hard to turn or stops immediately it’s to tight.

 

Port fuel injection would fix that problem

Can you lower the whole engine? Low profile engine mounts?

 

He doesn’t need the spacer..

The best way is to have someone teach you hands on.
You just need to find that person.

Yah you betcha. Right up there with when I went with the SMC 350 and holly 650 on the FJ55. Although I built it for bottom end and everyone else was building for top end. Like you are. For more than 40 years Ca. has some of the best performance parts available. Anywhere. And most of them are illegal there. You could move,they don't even do vehicle inspections here. Lived all over California at least on the coast. Only because the Navy made me. You could not pay enough to go back there. Ever...

In the 70's it was bro. At least from what I can remember. If you can recall the 70's rumor has it you didn't experience it. And there is also the rocks, Hawaii, Philippines (PI), Hong Kong, Singapore, etc. Perspective from outside the waters of course. If you want to know what the waters are like you don't want to ask a fish that lives in those waters. It needs to be from a perspective outside the water...

 

I'm going to try that spacer !!! , I will also have to go from 14"x5" filter back to a 14"x3" . Or I could go with a 7" tall cowl hood , the hood I've got now is 5" bubble hood
