Diagnosing a no start truck. Checked all the fuses, notably EFI, ECU-B, IGN, STR, etc. All are good. Shot some starting fluid into the PCV to see if the truck would turn over, it did. No relative fuel pressure, and you can’t hear the fuel pump prime.

You would suspect the MAF, but that would throw a code if it was bad. Conclusion is fuel pump is bad.

I spent six months of my life looking for a 1985 Toyota Pickup Rollbar to match the one from Marty’s truck. They are harder to find than all hell.

I drove two hours to buy one for a Chevy, it fit like shit so that sits in my backyard rotting away.

After that I found the holy grail of 1980’s rollbars, the exact one used in the movie. A double pillar Chrome rollbar out of a 1985 Toyota Pickup, the same one from the movie.

After I finally got it in the truck, it also fit like shit and I realized I didn’t want to drill into the bed.

It’s also useless and doesn’t give you anything support wise or rollover protection wise. I’m getting a headache rack instead.

You used to. They go in that recess under the HVAC panel. They’re the folding ones like you find in the 1995-1997 Tacoma.

I read into that swap. The dual range case has a different output shaft than the single range counterpart. You have to take the transfer case apart and swap the shafts, much like you have to do to convert an A340E to an A340F.
