@Garab the team got you out the new 29mm and they also sent the domes to match your current 29mm so you can decide what you'd like to do but you will be much happier once all match.

The team sent OP the new color so it all matches. If any updates please share your car should be 100% all matching now which is always good.

Got the LEDs they match but, the new map light bulbs started flickering going strobe and then ultimately shut off after being on 15 minutes.

Great customer service all around, its just a shame their product is just absolute rubbish. Im over it, going back to stock.

 

My maps also flicker like crazy and I also destroyed the dome trying to get it to fit. Reverse lights are great though.

 

Yes to explain again:
-you received 2 different diode types because they were unable to match ones you had with ones they were sending since they were both sent at different times. That was their human error and apologized and made it right by sending both style diodes the second time so it all matched.

For the flickering - can you share more information as what you are seeing is due to using them in a rare case:
They were on for 15 minutes with car door open and car off? This can happen as the car picks up the LED. There is not many situations where you would leave the car not running and car door open more than 15 minutes so it is rare occasion and why you probably don't hear much about it but having more info to confirm would be good.

To get what to fit - the 31mm? Did they not send the 29mm - when was kit purchased? New kits purchased from about 2 weeks ago and on have the new brightest 29mm on market bulb included.

Please explain flickering also and what situation you are seeing it?

The flickering occurs with the map lights. I first noticed it as I was sitting in my car reading a book. When i first turn it on it's normal then after about a minute it starts to flicker. The flickering gets progressively worse the longer it's on to the point of completely shutting off. It does it if I'm in the car (door closed) or when I open the door.

 

Is this with car on/off? Can you let me know what happens with OEM bulbs when they stay on? Normally they shut off after certain time? Is there also a button that changes settings on staying on/off when car comes on/off. It is normally a voltage that will do this but if more info is involved I can send to team to look into it.

 

Doesn't matter if the car is on or off. This isnt happening because the truck turns the lights off, it's because the bulbs crap out. OEM incandescents work normally.

 

I contacted they never had any issues like this so needed more info to figure it out and fix it.
-Did this happen as soon as installed or after awhile?
-Did you try other bulbs they sent to see if same issue.

Many have the interior kit so maybe others can try this out with 1 minute car on/off with lights on. Something is happening with car and voltage being sent normally that trigger LEDs to do this - I only seen this when car is off and it being on for long time like 15 minutes.

 

This is not true. I reported the same issues to you when I purchased the kit. I’ve got a box of bulbs that all flickered themselves to death in my Tacoma. I eventually gave up on these bulbs.

I also had replacements sent to me for the issue, but we never got bulbs that didn’t flicker. And I certainly never had mine on for 15 mins at a time.

 

When was it purchased? Email Support@deAutoLED.com and show photo of bulb - they changed models in December after testing so maybe they did the testing with you and switched. If you send more info they can look into and I will update here with all info too.

Ok they were able to look into it - you had old model but you had dead diodes/flickering which is different than flickering after on so you can email them with update with flicker/what died and they can help.

It really is the only claim like the one Garab is having. In their logs from what they told me from quickly looking you had dead diodes and never returned so they were never able to test to see if bad diode/resistor/damaged or bad diode.

If you email them with update they can look it over and help.

Ok update #2. You had bad resistor setup that they caught after as you had different test batch it seemed - you should of had an updated model that will 100% work. If they can send the updated model please email and they will get it to you - it is brand new resistor setup.

I will let them know to email you also.

Yes exactly. It was only 1 side and other side was fine. It was a bad resistor setup and according to them you never got an update. Let them know as they said they are emailing you with the new setup.

 

Great! I was wondering the same since eliminating the extra resistors also fixed the license plate bulb flickering issue I had.

 

Oh you had issue with license plates but was fixed with new setup? But domes you never asked for? The models you have are not going to work as it is the wrong resistor setup and was sent out before testing. Did you purchase or test this for them? As based on what you said new models were sent and designed for the Tacoma.

 

I have both the interior bulbs and license plate bulbs. I’ve never crossed the two bulbs between these two locations. I asked for and received replacement maps, but they were the exact same bulbs. I don’t think a fix had been made yet at that time.

And yes, purchased both.

 

Ok if the license plates work now it seems that the dome were never discussed to replace and only license plate and why the same bulb (well they look the same) are in license plates working but not domes. Email them for the update.

The team just put two and two together. Garab said he had "different colors" and probably old resistor setup. The testing they did with you was to make the new design. Can you let me know did you pay for domes or free for testing for the new design they had been developing?

 

I was not a “tester” for those. I had purchased them and simply had some back and forth with deAutoLED due to the flickering issues.

 

Ok I see testing new models?

Well it seems from notes:
-you helped designed the new dome and license plate resistor
-they sent new license plates but you refunded domes instead of new ones? Is this correct or their notes are wrong?
-either way not sure why you never emailed them regardless if the license plates worked and they had the new domes?

But at any rate they are ready to ship the new ones according to them that work.
