I'm genuinely interested in the standard rack with panels and an awning once its available.

Hahah! Shipping will be fairly averaged across different locations, but within TX MAY be a bit cheaper!

Would there be a local pickup option?

Awesome! Thanks! I'll probably get you one of the very first production models so you can be running it for a few weeks while I build everyone else's kit.

Maybe... Not likely. I've been designing and building small production run things for years and I've had a surpising number of attempted thefts/murders/creeps, so I'll probably avoid it.

If you're particularly local you'll get like $15 shipping.

Almost finished... I swear! Couple of tiny changes to make (like raising the whole thing 10mm to make RTT mounting easier)

I'll go ahead and open the buy soon, cause honestly turning this into a "commercial" product is super expensive and I don't exactly have cash to throw around...
And now I am totally confident in it as a product, so I feel comfortable to start production in the next week, and if we have as many interested as the survey says, I'll need to start ASAP.

Also, @reefclimber your colored options are being tested ;)

Shop? You mean single car garage? Hahaha
Truck doesn't fit in my normal workshop unfortunately.

Up there? On the rack? A random set of knock off max tracks for scale haha

Are you suggesting that your customers can drive with 800lbs of weight on the rack?

The black brackets that bolt to the roof are 3D printed right?

Not at all, but if you have a 200lb rtt, and then you and another person get in it and each weigh 250lb, that would be 700ish lb.

This is pretty standard for most racks.

Technically, yeah, they're printed in CFPC.
BUT I want people to know that they're printed on some of the best machines in the world for industrial final parts. They're not your typical 3D printer you get on Amazon and definitely not your typical filament.

For reference I run an additive manufacturing business working on small scale production runs, so I know all the ins and outs of 3D printing, and more than trust this material and process :)

I’d like to see the rack with the wind faring on it and the sides. I know you’re not finalized but that would help me at least make a decision vs other brands. Thanks!

Honestly the reason this has taken weeks of extra work is due to the testing I've been doing.

I've tested lower strength materials, same material with intentional defects, etc.

I've done weight tests, vibration testing, torsional testing, etc. I am honestly very happy with the strength and function of the rack and I wouldn't sell it otherwise.

This rack is by far the best value of any rack in my opinion. It's strong, tough, modular and customisable, all while being as cheap as possible :)
