Mine only does it when I either pull out of my parking space or back out of it when I turn the wheel. My dealership went over mine and heard the clunk. They said they know a new truck should not make that noise but they could not find the source. They told me to drive it and they have the clunk documented in the system.

Thanks! I just got out from underneath it and everything seems ok. Tightened the Ubolts, spare is tight, and no play in the drive shaft. I'll try this next.

What is the torque spec on the U-bolts?

I saw in other threads that it's 80-85 lbs. I torqued mine down and it seemed to help the problem that I was having. I say, "seemed" because my problem was intermittent and it's only been a day. Can't really tell if it's completely gone yet.

Well, it's been two days now and the clunking I was experiencing seems to be gone. I am chalking this up to loose ubolts. I had to tighten each of them about a quarter to half a turn each.

Man my squeak started up again on my truck. At this point I don't know what to do any more. Any other suggestions ? my U bolt looks fine so I'm not sure where to look anymore.

Had my truck in for the 10,000 mile service, (only have 3400 on the clock) today. Service manager looked at my truck himself and told me it is the ABS system. He said when the speed reaches 3mph or so the system makes the pop or clunk as I call it. The system goes to sleep when the key is off then boots back up after you start the truck and after it reaches whatever speed, 3mph it will pop/clunk when you 1st drive off. I just never realized it done it pulling straight forward or backward until he showed me. He sounded like he knew what he was talking about so I'm fine with it.
