    Definitely the seat belts. I have to constantly put it back in place before getting out. The passenger side seat belt, once on, at times sticks and can't be adjusted. Passengers feel like prisoners. Thankfully, I don't have a lot of passengers. Dash rattle, clock only works when the temperature is below freezing, and the terrible cup holders.

    It's because Toyota changed the steering wheel in 01. 95-00 don't have that problem.

    And you can’t take em off cuz the seatbelt will rub and damage on the metal components

    Seat belts not retracting and just a little to cramped for space inside the cab, but overall the truck is handier than a left handed wrench.

    2001 with; cat-back side-swept twin exhaust, elbow mod, Westin bullbar with Hella 450 driving lights, Snugtop XTR camper shell, TRD off-road 2x4-black beauty.
    All due respect to bart's awesome invention; but if you have the horn system that I have on my '01-the duals, if you remove those baffles mostly covering the horns' openings, that fucker is LOUD. Seriously. Loud. Echoes off the houses loud. And offends and pisses off the traffic offender for whom your toot is intended. Puts them right into defense mode. The stock horns are damn good ones without those baffles.

    5100's all around, 2.75 inch lift, polyurethane body mounts, gibson exhaust, variation of the deckplate mod, intake resonators removed 285-75-16 goodyear AT
    Let's see number one is frame. second weak rear springs, third poorly design e-brake, fourth would be the spare tire mount, fifth the oil filter location and orientation and last the uncomfortable seats.

    I'd haft to say the clock the colors are wack the light grey black is ugh the pos latches for the quarer windows ALWAYS break the narrowness of the truck the body is to narrow the bed is narrow but god damn do i love my baby shits cheap & easy to fix i do all my work etc & its so easy to mod

    ^^^ Those ARE a great fix.Im on my third 1st gen and I'd agree with the seatbelts, seat side panels and the fact that my old ass aches every day from the seats. Clock position sucks, every one I've had has squeaks and rattles all over the damn dashboard. I had a terrible time with the oil filter placement until I got a set of ramps and use them for oil changes. I reach right up through from underneath much easier now. I love the uniqueness of my stepside bed except that it make me more easily identified by certain people in law enforcement. Overall though I wouldn't wish for anything else and would like to take it with me when I depart this world.

    Have you tried getting a bucket with not too hot water and soap and putting as much belt as you can inside the bucket and let it soak?

    I did. now the belt is a lot softer therefore it doesn't get stuck. Try it.

    you don't have to disassemble any paneling in an xtracab for that method do you?
    my belts are sticky and have to hand feed them back sometimes
