It’s official...
I just boxed up the winners packages and all the stock is gone. I only have what remains in the refrigerator and those that are cellared. I’m sure I will continue to have occasional contests as I sometimes get offerings as you have seen from events, connections, etc. Fear not... as you can tell, I still enjoy everything about it, I just can’t drink it.

Is it more bitter? Smoother?

 

So.... This turned into a straight up barleywine! Very slight oxidation, little bit of sweetness, tons of stone fruit flavors and a touch of bitterness. So glad I waited on this!

 

Really! I would of thought it to spoil. Or something along those lines.
How was it stored?

 

It was pretty good. I didn't get the sourness of a standard gose, but the fruit was there. It was also from last summer and I didn't know that it was hanging around, but recently "found" it. So I'm not sure if the sour aspect mellowed over time.

 

Forgot to bring the beer from Rochester NY. Doh!

Luckily my parents are still up there and only coming home tomorrow, so I asked them to bring it.

So drinking this tonight.

 

Tonight’s dolphins with some friends. Also had a Pablo, Coconudder, and some kona beers

Not at all. It could probably take a few more years too. Typical storage - dark 50ish degrees..... Nothing too crazy.

 

Ok so @Roll Tide had an idea in the whatever thread about a “what beer do you like” poll.


I’m on a short trip right now so I may not have time for a few days maybe a week to set one up.


What does everyone think about a poll? I forget how many options you can have and how many things you can vote for at once. I’m also open to maxing out how many I can put. Leaving it up for a few days and started another list.

What is your "go to", "old trusty" beer?

When you seemingly cant figure out what you have a taste for, as you're standing there in the store trying to choose a beer, which beer is your favorite.



I typically snag some Budweiser or Corona.

 

Also if we do this what does everything think about the 1st poll looking something kinda like this(not a finale things just giving idea)

Lager,
Pale,
Amber,
Dark,
IPA,

 

The problem with that (especially in here) is that the results are skewed regionally as well as variety specific.
It wouldn't be much of an issue if you were just using mainstream beers found in cans, bottles, taps pretty much country (and internationally) wide.
The issue then would be "which one of these 'swill' would I be willing to choke back if I was forced at knife-point?" that becomes necessary in this niche of a thread (these are fans, not average folk). Throw it out in the general forum and you'll get a more appropriate response.
