So I wired up my ditch and bumper light and hooked them up to the CH4x4 Switch that illuminates when I turn them on

However I ran into the issue that the whole switch is always illuminated, even when the truck is off.

I did wire my lights to a constant hot source because I do want to be able to turn my lights on while my truck is off.

Has anyone else ran into this problem and if so how did you fix it

Red wire #2 needs to be connected to an acc wire, not always hot.

^This. Personally, I wired my switches to be illuminated ONLY when the headlights are on.

Red 2 is hooked up to nothing right now and they still are constant on but if I hook it up to an acc will that fix the issue ?

Did you tap into your headlight wiring for that or did you do it a different way.

Also with that do both lights illuminate or does it operate properly where one is always on and the other light comes on when you push the switch ?

My brother in law did the wiring for the switches so long ago that I don't remember exactly how he did it.

When the headlights come on, the switches are illuminated only. When the switch is pressed, the accessory lighting etc turns on (switch is still illuminated) and when the switch is pressed again to turn the accessory off, the accessory is turned off and the switch is still illuminated.

    Hope this helps.

    Gotcha. It did.

I think I may just have to go with other switches. These ones are always illuminated and I do not feel like tapping into headlights.

    Thank you!

    Don't give up so easily.

    Connect Green to hot.
Connect both Reds together and to accessory relay.
    Connect Black to ground.

Wired this way, both LEDs in the switch, and the accessory will be On only when the switch is on.

And there are other ways to do it. This is how I like it.

The CH4x4 switch ain't rocket surgery. :anonymous:

With this way will I still be able to turn my lights off with my truck off ?

Thats the whole reason I have the lights on a constant hot.
