I had a 5 yr application of Ceramic Coating applied to my truck last year which included the windows and wheels . And only maintenance to the coating was just this last week using Mothers CMX Ceramic coating spray

I layered the CMX coating 3x's and the factory 17yr old paint looks awesome !!

I sat outside the other day during strong winds and alot of dust blowing around . Still looks freshly detailed

I washed my taco for the first time after last weeks meguiars hybrid ceramix wax treatment
    I drove over 1200 miles
lots of dead bugs on the front end from the miles

    here's my findings-
the hybrid wax worked well in regards to ease of cleaning where no bugs died
on the other hand, the front of the truck required extensive elbow grease
(just like before ceramic hybrid wax treatment) to remove dead bugs/bees

the water beading was amazing to see

Id say its not bad for $15

note- avoid getting it on windows & plastic
& I would hand buff & polish it in with a micro
(the bottle says to spray on & wash off)
I tried both methods & found the old school buff & polish method for waxing the best

Thanks for the thread. Although my truck is now I have been looking into some type of ceramic coating. Traditionally I use my buffer and polish then wax. It's pretty taxing with my old 2500 Duramax, but the Taco shouldn't give me too many issues. I'll have to look into ceramic wax treatment.

did another basic wash today....this hybrid ceramic wax is bad asssssss
it repels dirt & water fantastic
& bug removal is a breeze

barely needed to use soap...pressure washer did 99% of the work
& didnt even need to dry the paint!

get yourself some & make your exterior cleaning routine that much simpler

I just bought my second bottle from O’Reillys auto parts today. My first bottle, which I bought from autogeek.com was getting low. I’m stoked they have it there now and it’s $2 cheaper than online!

Bought the Meguiar's this weekend, 2 bottles $5 off per bottle rebate. I hope to have in on the taco by this weekend.

I hoping this is a quicker way to protect the paint on my taco. I like keeping my vehicles looking as good as they run but I don't want to spend all weekend doing so.;)

Are you using this as an exclusive replacement for Wax/Sealant, or are you using the spray Ceramic Wax as a substitute for post-wash spray waxing?

I've always been confused on the exact use for these spray ceramic waxes. I've read that you're supposed to go so far as to strip the entire vehicle of any and all wax before the first application... then I've also seen people wax their cars like normal, then use the spray ceramic wax after each wash. I've read that waxing/sealing gives the paint a wetter look than ceramic... then I've also read that ceramic stays cleaner, longer, regardless of glare quality.

Ive used the ceramic hybrid wax for both my rides & several clients autos over the past 30+ days
    it is amazing stuff
no more carnuba wax for me

I would clay bar, buff & polish all paint panels prior to applying ceramic hybrid wax
it is a wax/sealant so anything below it becomes difficult to remove (like sap, clear coat scratches, road tar) once you apply it
note- clay bar removes sap & tar, while buffing & polishing removes swirl/scratch marks in the clear coat

I would aim for 3-5 coats of the hybrid wax (apply after each wash) one bottle should provide 3 coats for a medium sized auto (like our taco's)

I also suggest applying the ceramic wax with a micro fiber or wax pad my hand like traditional waxing & buffing only on paint panels
next you can use a random orbit buffer/polisher at low speed (or by hand) to set up the hybrid wax,
then wipe down/buff out with clean mircofiber

enjoy a silky smooth taco in the end my friend!
