Wait what? There's only one dragon left? I didn't think they showed one of Dany's 2 dragons actually die...they both got hurt (one pretty badly it looked like)

I can't take any more of the dragons dying, when the Night King raised that fucking ice spear to launch at Dracarus I was literally yelling "FLY AWAY YOU DUMB MOTHERFUCKER FLY AWAY" at my tv

Maybe that blue fire breathing dragon at the end (the one that nearly killed Jon) was the 2nd dead one that got raised when the NK reanimated the corpses? I thought it was still the first dead dragon but I suppose it could've been the 2nd one.

Dany's going to have a hard time winning back the throne with only one dragon, if that's the case

S8E4 preview clearly shows 2 dragons flying at the 24 sec mark.

I get the role he played in luring the Night King, but he didn't actually do anything. He just happens to be what the Night King wants. If the Night King were interested in riches, Bran could have been swapped for a bag of gold that they could have lured him with that and the story would be none worse off. He has been able to see the past since Season 1 (granted the ability has evolved greatly) and about the only thing that power has contributed to the whole story is the point that Jon Snow is actually a Targaryen - something that Samuel discovered anyways. Everything else he has done could have been accomplished without him. He warged in to the ravens during this battle and.....?

It's neat that he and his powers exist, but it hasn't served much of a purpose, yet, and it was a long, drawn out process just to get here. I fully expect there to be *some* payoff over the next three episodes, but as badass as that payoff will probably be, at this point, after 7+ seasons of putting up with that story-line, I'm not sure it'll have been worth the cost. I hope I'm wrong.

This goes back to the episode before for me. He can warg in to those ravens, see the past and future, knows what the Night King wants and he gets about 8 seconds of talk time when it comes to strategy for the battle. Dude should have been laying it all out for them.

That's conflating the actor and the character. That young actor, taking a big role like that, and having to do all of his development from the discomfort of a rickety wheelchair is very impressive. The character, though, has yet to serve any meaningful purpose, in my opinion. Think of all the great character arcs, like those of Jamie, Arya, Tyrion, and Jon or even the good ones like those of Sansa, Jorah, The Hound, and others. The developments, the contributions to the story-line, and the way your opinion of them has been forced to shift over 7+ seasons has been great. The Bran arc doesn't hold a candle to that. He just sort of exists in his own vacuum.

as far as I know, he cannot see the future. I do not recall any instance that he has. only the past and present.

that being said, yes I agree his character story isn't as great as the others, but it's still good.

I figured his giving the dagger to Arya, the confirmation of Theon's "purpose", and the knowledge that the Night King was after him was an indication that he had some form of being able to see the future - even if not as clearly as the past. Could have all been deduced from knowing things from the past or present, I suppose.

Don't remember a specific instance for Bran, but that other boy who helped him up north did see the future. He knew in advance that he would die outside the great tree. The original 3ER also saw the future, he saw/knew Bran would come to the great tree and take his place.

yeah I mean without actual "visions" of the future I don't know that we can deduce that he sees the future. he does know all of the past though, and we learn from the past right?

yeah we had actual comments/visions of them seeing the future, we've never had anything specific to Bran, just speculation.

given such speculation, his story seems to make more sense to me. The only part I can't figure is why he didn't plan around it. :notsure: Unless the future is somehow locked into existence, as if set in stone and all possible outcomes are already determined or somehow impossible to avoid.
