Sold my 9 month old Tepui Kukenam 3 yesterday that was in damn near new condition. The buyer picked it up at my house and had me help him install it on his Forester. 2 hours later he sends me a text saying all of the poles are broken and sends the attached video.

    https://ufile.io/urzloaic

He is now asking for a refund because it is broken. Thoughts? He is supposed to come by later today to show me, but he is a rookie with this thing and I can’t seem to believe it was broken when I sold it to him. The kid is 17/18 years old and had no clue what to do with the thing. I offered to open it up and show him it on my truck, but he said that was ok and I didn’t need too.

That sucks, can’t see video but how can the poles break? You offered to show it to him. His loss.

That was my thought. I’m unsure how they could break and wanted him to bring it back last night so I could look at it. He said he couldn’t and that he could come today in the evening after work. He also said that he could throw it in the back of his moms truck to bring it back.

Sounds shady to me. Why would you not want to return it right away? Also - why would you disassemble it from your car and put it in another truck to bring it back?

17/18 year kid sounds like my neighbor's kid. His own mom says he can screw up a steel ball in minutes.

    Good luck with it.

I’ve tried to bend the poles and I can’t. The interior bows. Only if he hit something.

Finally joined the RTT group. This is the brand new 2019 walkabout 72 in (what it is called now) The biggest reason why I went with 23zero is because they are local in SLC. Their Warehouse is only 10 min from my house. I also really liked the price because they made it so you can buy without annex. This one came out to be $1873. It has most of the perks the summit line has like wrapped interior poles telescoping ladder stronger hinges etc. the electrical stuff wasn’t a must for me like usb because I don’t want my battery running anymore than it needs to. The outside cover now has their logo on all 4 sides which I liked. I also liked the color so it wouldn’t look dirty if it was and it wasn’t bright when the sun came up. We have slept one night in it and it rained and was crazy windy and the tent did awesome. Th only part I didn’t like is that on the front and back doors the sides zip down but now the bottom so air can sneak in a little. I don’t know if that is common with all the extended models but that is one thing I would change.40D03E2D-A81E-450E-90CE-8428CEAD5D0C.jpg 572507DD-8BFE-46B0-B3DD-95F2EE808A68.jpg AA2045E8-3107-440A-81D2-6DD54FC1ED54.jpg

If he gave you cash i would check to make sure its all legit. I hear this all the time where people will give you fake cash and return it hoping you will give them legit cash. This sounds super fishy. When you sell something it is "as is" he should have had you open it. I would say its on him.

Id try to help him, but if it was a Craigslist sale, id tell him it was his loss since he didnt take the offer that it was opened by you first.

Had someone try to do that with some electronics that I sold. I tested at home, showed the guy in person, then when he went home all of it decided to die and not turn on. Somehow...

I actually asked him if he knew what the power plug was and if it was fully seated :D

looks great! Most of the RTTs dont zip at the bottom for the outer flaps that cover the fully zipped netting. I had some crazy wind in the desert and the wind got under and pulled them up and flapped.

@MedlinAround I verified this weekend that I put 2 d rings on the rail and that's what I loop the shoe holder through. Sorry for the delayed response on this.

How do people secure the RTT to your racks? recently ive been concerned of theft and am curious on how others go about this. My tent stays up there most of the time, and only is attached with bolts and nuts.. you could take a wrench and be gone with it in less than 5 minutes.

WheelEveryWeekend RTT mounts or use security nuts? Or run a cable through?

If thieves want it, they will get it
