    Jeebus. What did you do?

Hopping on this thread with my incredibly important opinion. I also ride Time ATACs on all my bikes. I dislike the first gen SPDs but hear the new iteration may have tweaked things where I may like them. I enjoyed the CrankBros but like already mentioned, maintenance heavy and the replacement parts aren't as cheap as I feel they should be. The Time's were the only ones which lasted years of commuting in Seattle.

Regarding which is best, just like saddles and underwear, its a personal preference. Find those which work for you and ignore any haters. I recommend going used at first, until you know what you like.

And, yes, everyone falls over. Usually just once. If you are me, you do it on the road, as a convertible of high school girls pull up next to you. The important lesson there is, when you unclip on the left do not lean to the right.

    Good luck!

Thankfully, I haven't had one of those. But there is always the possibility in the chunderdome that is Moab.

Where does one ride in NOVA? Parents live in Manassas, and can't find any good places to ride when I am out there visiting.

Fountainhead is the best place in fairfax. Wakefield park in Annandale is fun too. Then there is Laurel hills near Woodbridge. You’re probably closest to fountainhead though.

    I'm Alex CycloClark on there

Whoever James Allen is; are those road or MTB miles? You're killing the game

Mix of road and gravel this year... for two reasons.

    1. I live in a MTB desert (nearest good singletrack is 30+ miles in any direction)
    2. I scored an entry into DirtyKanza200 again this year so I'm building big miles toward that goal come June 1st.
After DK200, I'll be back on the MTB as much as possible and measuring my riding progress in hours vs. miles... riding road/gravel in the SE in summer is horrible in the clammiest, stickiest, most humiderific way.

So I increased my budget for my first bike since 2013 lol. Don’t think I can swing 3k but 1000-1500 I’m comfortable with. I really like that yt tho lol.

What does everyone think of the Norco?
    https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/2551980/

    Or this stump jumper?
    https://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/2558735/

Eventually I would like to do something more aggressive than the normal trails we have here. Like big bear park or something like that. Tons of places to ride in socal so I don’t want to limit myself.

once you ride in 5.10s you will never look back. There used to be a 5.10 factory outlet in SoCal and I was able to get shoes for like $30...Adidas bought out 5.10 and the outlet store closed soon after. I miss having that killer deal

    too many to list

Damn, yeah if they were $30 i would definitley already have a set. I normally just get the closeout vans at the outlet store and thrash em up on the bike. Might be time to finally to make the investment.

I really like the looks of the "district" shoes.

What you trying to hit? My buddies normally hit up the "shed" up in gambrill by the frederick water shed for DH shuttle runs and fast sendy stuff. I do believe that Bryce bike park is going to be open soon since they are a small mountain and can convert in like 3 days from winter to biking. They dont have the most epic shit, but for a fun little spot it works for about 4 hours of fun.
