Just bad luck I guess as most are really happy with these tires and except for the first debacle I’m pretty satisfied now but then I only have about 600 miles on them.
Hoping for the best but we will see.

I bought E rated Wildpeaks a couple of weeks ago and talked myself into swapping them at Dicount Tire for the P rated version because the Es were a little stiff and thought the Ps might save some gas, but.....now I've just made my second trip for rebalancing the Ps due to a shimmy around 55-60 mph... I had no issues at all with the E rated Wildpeak. So now I'm kicking myself in the butt for not sticking to the Es!! Ugh!

Good luck man. Seems that everyone that’s had the shimmy, keeps it. I’d explain what’s happening and ask to go back. They may honor it, or contact Falken about the issue. They’d probably replace them back to the E’s.

Thanks a lot! I called Discount Tire today and ask them what my solution might be and they asked if I would be interested in putting the LTs back on since they haven't shipped them back yet. I said absolutely! So, depending on what the manager says, it looks like tomorrow I'll be swapping back to the E rated tires. Honestly I had zero issues with those, maybe because of the thicker sidewalls and different composition...? Anyway, I watched the gas mileage and compared the two, and believe it or not, I'm seeing no benefit in the P rated version. After balancing once on install and force balancing again, the whole truck was still shaking at highway speed on my way home from work today. Not cool!

Just passing it along... after removing my Wildpeaks and having my truck realigned, new KO2’s, rebalanced, vibration is gone.

Got a set of the MT’s, the issue I’m having is I never get to use my high lift to swap out a flat in the trail. The tires just keep rolling, oh I do have a bit of vibs when I come to a stop, cuz they’ve gotten a little worn. But it’s like a lil massage.

I have 50k on a set that i put on 200 miles into owning my 4runner with no issues what-so-ever. I was planning on getting another set.

    First Post.

2018 OR DCLB with Fox PRO suspension and 16 inch Ray 10’s. I started with Ko2’s, 265/75r16 E Load. Felt too heavy, tranny downshifting more than it always does. I also had issues balancing them twice. I had the normal steering wheel vibes at 55mph.

I switched to Falken AT3’s P load after America’s tire recommended them for what I use my truck for. After 500 miles (one month) Three balance attempts at three different shops, including Road Force at Toyota dealership and still steering wheel shake at 55-65 mph. Toyota made a note identifying the SCS wheels as hard to balance.

I contacted America’s tire and asked to switch to Nitto Ridge Grapplers SL. I had them put on today, balanced easy according to tech. All vibrations are gone and I finally love my truck again. All tires were 265/75r16. I am very surprised how quiet the Ridge Grapplers are. I also think they are worth a shot if you don’t want to run an E load.

I think all the tires I ran were good tires I just think I had bad luck getting some problem free ones. America’s Tire was great during this and took care of me price wise for the Ridge Grapplers.

Just saw the ridge graps are still 49lbs a piece in SL. Jeezus.

Glad you found what you need .. I understand the frustration. I also have scs wheels so I don't know if that's the issue but my P rated Wildpeaks just would not balance. I went back to LTs (in the same tire) and the balance couldn't be better...which seemed opposite of the usual logic of E and P rated tires. Anyway I'm happy now...and glad you found a resolution too!

Weird, I had the exact opposite experience. Had a set of P rated that balanced almost perfectly- didn't even need weights. ran those tires down and replaced them with LT's that have had balancing issues, but not as bad as what most in this thread describe.

I don't get it either... I'm back in the LTs, balanced perfectly. I've heard maybe my SCS wheels are tricky to balance but who knows

I have been using the ray10 and the e rated wildpeak at3w 265 75 16 for a good while with no issues. I wonder if discount tire got a bunch of bad tires from falken?

Could be.. They did replace one of the Ps saying it just wouldn't balance, but that didn't fix the problem . I'm glad everything is all balanced now even with the heavier E rated tire.

All those are good. I think I’d go Duratrac.

Falken covered 70% of new tires. Just ordered them today. Same 265 75 r16 LT. Hoping the shaking is done. Will update when installed. If it doesn't go away, I will go a different route!

We have the same tires....size and LT version. Fingers crossed for us both lol. The LTs balanced but the Ps didn't so I'm sticking with LTs and hoping for the best.
