Let's See Your Cats!!!

Hobbes is patiently waiting for his favorite patch of morning sunlight to appear. He's gonna have a long wait; the forecast calls for clouds and rain for the next several days.

 

Henry had to take another trip to the vet's this week. He has some kind of cyst or something in his ear. It looked like a blood blister but then turned pink without going down at all for over a week. The vet had no idea what it is, so she had to aspirate some samples and send them to a lab for classification. It was a bad trip for the little guy, and wore him out for two solid days. He's getting to the point that he gets tired really easy, and he looks like a little old man. We're not sure how long he has, but we're doing out best to keep him happy and comfortable. His good days are pretty good, and his bad days are infrequent and amount to just sleeping while the rest of us try not to bother him.

I had some fun with these!

 

Henry perked up a bit yesterday when the sun came out - we all did. He spent some time watching people walking their dogs then chilled with Arthur in the cat tree after some lunch.

 

Well fuck...we just found out that the thing in Henry's ear is a mast cell tumor. Now we have to decide if it's worth the risk to sedate him for surgery knowing his compromised cardiac status could make this fatal, or if we should just let it ride and assume that heart failure will take him before the tumor can cause problems of it's own. We're emotionally exhausted...the poor little guy. I will be talking to the vet tomorrow...

 

Wow what a rough time you guys are having. Will keep you in prayers.

Wow, so sorry to hear! This has certainly been a tough road for you guys. These little guys and gals mean so much to us and all we want to do is make them happy. It is times like these that are so difficult.

 

Purrrrfectly said response. So sorry to hear and yes a a difficult decision ahead. Comfort should be te main concern at this point. I've been there...

 

My pup had a mast cell tumor. We had the vet cut it out and examine it to find out it was benign and no cancer.

 

Jesus it just never seems to end does it!!! Been down that road before too and it’s a total ass kicker. No doubt you’ll do what’s best for your little guy. Will continue prayers for you guys and Henry will definitely be in my thoughts. Hang in there!!!

 

Sorry to hear this. These kind of decisions are never easy; I'm sure you'll do whats best for Henry.
