Doing a paint test run. They didn’t have the “professional” line enamel paint in quarts, so I got the basic bitch stuff. I put a LOT of primer on and it looks like I didn’t even use any. So these quarts will last awhile.

I certainly won’t do brush on for anything requiring nice aesthetics, but so far my initial impression is that this stuff will be durable as fuck. We’ll see. I have to wait 24 hours for the primer to cure, and then I’ll do the paint.

This #randyfab thing has gotten out of control...the guy thinks he can just make everything now
Now that ive figured out you can buy a gallon of actual automotive paint for like 80 bucks and use a harbor freight paint gun I'll never use anything else.

Once your truck actually runs you should make one too. It's easy, fast, and it feels so much nicer while shifting.
If I had an air compressor I'd be all over that shit.

1.) Lets be realistic - if my truck ever runs again it will be for minutes at most.

2.) What makes it different than stock? It might be somewhere earlier but im too lazy to read

I'm waiting until I move to get a nice 20+ gallon one, now that I'll have a garage.

Stock shifter is two pieces, with a rubber bushing connecting them. It helps prevent transmission noise from being transmitted through the shifter, but mine was old and had a lot of play.

edit: This video is taken in 4th gear. That's how bad it was.

Everything I've read is they're good, but just loud as fuck. Which I'm ok with. May build a small enclosure for it so it's not taking up space in the garage, and not as loud.

I'm not sure mine had a rubber piece. I think it was metal the entire length

Edit: its been so long since ive driven it though it might not even be a manual

You have a two piece then. It's not obvious, the main piece is a large black metal piece, with the rubber bushing inside of it.

I'd show you a pic but god damn, I'm having a hard time finding one.

@Darkgoatracer best I can find. This is a modified stock shifter, but you get the idea, and can see the two separate pieces.
