When I installed my Made in China Pro grille last week, I did notice that the front sensor was covered with some sort of neoprene material. It looked like it had been glued on after-the-fact.

It must have been done by the dealer while the truck still sat unsold on the lot.

So I called the service department last week to schedule an appointment to have my 10k maintenance and TSS recall done. I get here today (right now) and they tell me it’s a two part recall. The service guy claimed “today they’re gonna inspect it and then they will order the part and install”. Obvious bullshit. They forgot to order the part. Not to mention I had to leave work early to make it to the stealership. What would you guys do here?

Same thing happened to me, in fact. My dealership requested that you call to make sure part was available to do the recall. I called 3 times to make sure the part was available and all times I was told they had plenty of parts in stock. Apparently they didn't have the sealer for the Pro models. I got it done on my 2nd appointment.

My whole thing is that I did call. The very nice lady on the phone said that they ordered the part. It is what it is.

To be honest, it sort of is a 2 part deal. You will either need the sensor replaced if it has thrown any codes, or just the foam pad and computer update If no codes.
Now, the dealership should have went ahead and ordered several of the pads because they knew they would need them eventually. Anytime we get a recall/bulletin notice, if its something we can see needing at least 5 of parts required, we will order at least 5 to have on hand. Now, it wouldn't be wise to have sensors on hand, but the foam pads for sure.

I know what you mean, it does suck trying to find time to bring it in. I am lucky enough that I have every Monday off, so thats when I make any appointments for anything.
Now, what really pissed me off two weeks ago, was when they scratched the wheel on our Rav4. I know its just a factory wheel on a Rav4, but it was careless work by the tech. I had to drop it off and pick it up on a Thursday because that was the only day the wheel guy came by.

I’d be pissed. They’re rotating mine and I’m worried. And they’re OEM wheels also! NYC dealerships scare the crap out of me. Carelessness as far as the eyes can see.

I see. Mine started throwing out codes like crazy the other night. Both my BSM and my PCS were going nuts!! I turned off the BSM and that stopped but even turning off the PCS didn’t stop the lights from turning on and off and beeping every time

Then you should be getting a new sensor with the vent holes.

The bad part is, I wouldn't have been too worried about it had it been handled differently. We were getting a tire repair from a nail. I took it to them because as part of the deal we got the tire protection plan thrown in. Im sure I paid for it somewhere, but thats not the point of the story. Anyway, when they were done I always look everything over. Well, the wheel had all the tire grease around the lip from where they reinstalled the tire, and grease all over it. I thought, thats sloppy, they should clean the wheel up. This made me look a little harder. I saw a spot that looked like grease at first, but since I was looking harder, I had to wipe it. It was not grease. Its like the guy was trying to hide it by leaving the wheel dirty. Thats when I became upset.
If he would have just came out and said, hey man, I slipped and damaged your wheel, sorry about that. I would have just said, no problem man, what can we do to fix it? But, due to the cover up, I got the service advisor and service manager involved. They repaired the wheel and all is well now, but I am going to the other nearby dealership for future services.

Well, I’m glad they fixed it, and having tire and rim is always a plus. Wheel repairs and spare tires can get expensive.

Do you still have the stock grille? If so, you may want to put that back on for the recall.

I took possession of a new Sport 2 days ago. No recall or foam. It has 3 tiny holes.
