Do you just need the certificate? Or do you want/need training?

Zero In (gun range) does them periodically.

    Fortress Combat offers them too.

I think both offer both the classroom portion and a hands on (i.e. shooting) portion.

Bob Wards and Sportsman's Warehouse usually have fliers posted for concealed carry classes at their entrances too.

    Here we go again!
If you are just looking for a permit, proof of MT Hunters Safety class is all that is required by the state. Furthering ones firearms education is always a good idea.

Come to think of it I believe a military discharge works too. They assume military had firearms training.

I got a good chuckle out of this one lol.

Curious about that too. I took it in washington growing up. I've been lazy and have been using my washington permit w/ the reciprocity. I'll probably just sign up for one of the joint MT/UT classes at sportsmans so I can take care of both of those at one time.

ETA: Just did some googling and found this under requirements at the following site

"Completion of a hunter education or safety course approved or conducted by the department of fish, wildlife, and parks or a similar agency of another state;"

    https://www.usacarry.com/montana_concealed_carry_permit_information.html

So it sounds like out of state hunters safety should cover it

While we’re on the topic of it. Does MT require your Firearm to have a serial number? Reason being is I built my 9mm from an 80% lower. Will I have to have it serialized in order to carry it? Or is kind of a one size fits all deal.

As far as I know you do not need to have it serialized and per the ATF it is not required if you made it for personal use.

Here is an article that covers this in particular.

    http://www.gunsholstersandgear.com/...-apply-a-serial-number-to-a-homemade-firearm/

That being said it might be a good idea to CYA and get it engraved if you plan on carrying it.

I know a couple Navy veterans who had zero firearms training or use during their service. So it's a real thing.

My firearm training consisted of a worn out POS 1911 in bootcamp. The gun malfunctioned before I even got a mag loaded and I was pulled of the firing line for not following instructions. The gun was laying at the firing line station with the slide locked back,we were instructed to pick it up and load a mag,I picked it up and the slide slammed forward without my ever touching the slide release.
After that I had familiarization training on the ship with the 1911,M14,M60 and M2. Never really had any "intensive training" to a specific weapon. We were just shown how to load and operate the weapon and handed a few mags and belts loaded w/40 rounds and told to shoot at the barrel floating in the ocean. rpyqxrxKyMXHnavCpZzV.gif

Just a heads up for the local members here in the Bozeman area, I'm available for fabrication, lift installs, general maintenance, and more. I have done a few sliders for local members, spindle gussets, cam tab gussets, and cab mount chops, and am very familiar with these trucks. Shoot me a PM if you need any help with your build!

Wanna put some rear leaf spring mounts on for me? LoL

Have to cut all the rivets out of the frame to do it. It's a real peach!!
