Put a little finishing touch on the swingout just now. Not perfect but I really don't care.

Received my Fel-Pro gasket order from Rock Auto. I like their blue silicone VC gaskets and the PermaSeal on these intake manifold gaskets.

that's really impressive. i just did a little nearly stock mod. finally added usb in place of 2nd outlet. and for a voltage indicator along with it.
fyi for anyone wondering the outlet fuse is in the engine bay.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!
For those of you who have been lucky enough to have to replace the bearing on the pully of your A/C compressor. What were the symptoms?

I have a NAPA axle that doesn't articulate smoothly anymore in the cage side. It didn't fail but it was more difficult to spin the tire by hand when it was in the air.

My oem ADD failure happened in the cage.

My oem manual hub happened in the hub.

    It hurts the wallet

$50 at a yard I go to in Denver. Boots are usually in good shape.

I've been under the impression that tundras have an identical front suspension other than the shaft being longer. Is this wrong?

Grumbly bearing sounds. Pop the belt off and give it a spin.

That is what I would like to ascertain. They obviously fit in the hub and in our front differentials, as they're commonly used in LT applications. I would just be surprised if they weren't stronger due to the weight and power of a Tundra versus a Tacoma.

I have an angle grinder and dremel but I saw HB actually have a fender cutting tool. Looks like a reciprocating saw but smaller. Was thinking of giving that a try.

How high did you cut? I was thinking high enough to remove the mounting holes. I’m also guessing no more finder liner once you do the fender trim.

I had no fender liners in for a few months and it sucked, dirt and mud and crap gets all up inside the door jamb. Might not bother some and it's not like it's hard to clean, but I didn't like knowing it was that close to getting into the cab so easily so I reinstalled the liners.

Not to mention a lot more gets inside the engine bay

That doesn't sound nice but I think I can manage since it's more of a recreation vehicle than a daily. I have a driveway and a pressure washer so I can always rinse the underside real quick and if it gets dirty enough I could wash the engine bay again. Shouldn't be to bad now since it's summer now so it'll be more dirt/dust than mud. I cleaned the truck the other day after we did some mud trails and that stuff sure does cake on even after I did a quick rinse when we got back.

The fender tool I was mentioning is called a body saw:

A grinding noise when I would spin the pulley by hand. It felt like it had sand in the bearings.

Nice! I received my parts to do the knock sensors the other day. Took it to get everything installed yesterday. No more CEL for this Taco!

Sweet deal! Last night when I tried to remove the KS harness, the plastic sockets just crumbled in my hand. It would have only been a matter of time before those would have caused codes. I see we bought the same Fel-Pro gaskets and KS replacement set.

I dropped mine off at a mechanic that i use, so i didn't see how bad mine were. I think that was throwing the code since it went away and came back a couple times. Might as well replace everything while he was at it.

I dont mind meeting up with him. But we would need to find a way to get them to you.

Dude. We need to go wheel!

Fuck the liners. They have been gone. I cut right above the holes. They have nibblers on Amazon for 70 bux. Pr use this from HF for 50 bux

What led to you checking the bearing and finding it was grinding?

I'm getting a squealing sound every once in a while. It happens more frequently when I have the A/C on.

It may be that I just have the belt a little too lose. When I did the belts (last year), I was concerned about making the belt too tight because I know that bearing can go out... I may have been over cautious.

It started with a periodic chirp/click then it became more of a high pitched grinding noise.

You can check the typical one that goes out, the idler pulley or the actual compressor bearing. My compressor bearing is going out so I just cut the AC belt and haven't heard anything (that was after I replaced my idler pulley)
