    Hi TW,
This is my first thread that I have started. I have been looking at so many of the threads regarding both the 5100’s and 6112/5160 setups and I still don’t really know which one is a clear winner for what I am looking for. I would just like to hear from a few people with either setup. So what I am looking for is something that I can run some service roads occasionally at a higher speed without spending big bucks to get King’s or Fox’s. I figured that the 6112/5160’s would be better but I am confused because you have to compress the spring a lot more then the 5100’s where you can just buy a new spring. I want about 2 inches of lift on my DCLB so that would mean on the 6112 I would have to be on perch 5/6.... I just don’t want to have buyers remorse by having too stiff of a spring. Please leave some insight for me down below, all help is appreciated!!!

How do the 5100s feel w 888 coil?
Does it matter what kind of AAL rear leaf spring you get?

I currently have 5100s and I'm wondering if it's worth the jump to the 6112s! I find the front rides 'ok' but the rear with a 1" block is stiff without any weight in the bed.

What size damper is inside of those, I feel like they will be equivalent to the 5100’s in size. But I may be wrong. I know the 6112’s have a 60mm damper which is bigger then the 5100’s

I have the 6112/5160 combo. They’re great and I have no complaints. However, if I did it again I’d drop a few more bucks and get the Kings.

Have you taken it through any higher speed trails, if so how has it done?

I’ve taken it off road and I have a few hundred pounds of armor and it’s done decent not as well as I like. However for what I paid they’re on par.

Here's a video of the TRD Pro fox 2.5 on my truck.. driving moderately fast off road. They held up pretty well...

I have 6112/5160s on my '19 Gen 3, and had 5100s on my Gen 2 (both w/AAL in back, the Gen 2 had OEM springs in front). On the street, they feel pretty similar. Maybe the 6112/5160s are a tad stiffer but I wouldn't say they are harsh. I'd go for it.

I've got the 6112/5160 combo as well, set at 2/1 perches, loving it especially considering their low price.

They're fairly digressive in terms of valving so you're not going to get buttery smooth ride quality for around town or over small bumps. They really do well at higher speeds & over rougher terrain, downright difficult to bottom out.

Yes, similar to how I had the 5100s set on my Gen 2.

Did you buy them from someone else that took them off their pro?
