Since you've had Kings and Icons, how do they compare? Have a preference?

Well it’s a good story as always with the action an stuff the ending was a little disappointing.

I know this will sound weird with their valving but the icons have a more soft/plush ride than the kings which I prefer. However the kings are definitely beefier just in build quality thicker top hat an bottom bushings. The kings were a tad stiff but still rode good.

 

Does anyone have any leads on an 05-15 2.7L 5spd 2wd (5 or 6 lug) that's getting parted out? I think my transmission is on it's way out

No worries man, thanks for looking out! Getting a weird vibration under hard acceleration and during deceleration. Just replaced the 3rd, and all the ujoints so i think it is trans related.. Makes a nasty rattling noise

I checked it and there doesnt seem to be any excessive play in it. Definitely on the list before the trans tho as its the original one with 247k on it

Good to know on both accounts. I'm on edge with Game of Thrones like everyone else. Hoping the ending is good and doesn't disappoint. The story has been amazing so far.

Glad to hear you've kept/improved the ride quality. I've always been curious about the Icons and see a lot of mixed reviews about them being plush or too stiff and uncomfortable. It's subjective so it's hard to gauge how they compare. Now I know, thanks!

An I can confirm the stiffness of the icons with the 650lbs spring on a non armored truck is stiff for sure. But now it’s beautiful with this setup. I can’t wait to get the new rear setup done an be a baller like yourself

 

Yessir! 150k of that was my pops running from kerrville to houston weekly, so it was babied before i got it.

Rubber trans mount is the original as well. Looked okay though when i had the trans out a couple months ago

 

I’ve had one look normal but was spongey once I took it off I was running into the issue off a loud clunk when accelerating an letting off the gas. That was the culprit.

 

Thanks for the heads up, thatll be the first thing i replace!
