Just heard from the Vet. Sounds like Jaeger is going to be ok. But he will still have an IV hooked up over night. They are not sure what happened except that it must have been something he ingested. Damn dog scared the crap out of me! But he is my bud!

Bud's "stick together"...you did the right thing...what ever hit him was probably quick and is now over...check him over and look for a snake bite, tick bite, spider bite, anything that does not look like it belongs there. It almost sounds like some kind of poison was ingested...just my 2 cents though

:D Georgie is learning to handle Tank, he better watch out cause she is bigger than him!

It takes A LOT to get these pups tired, but we try and they help us out by annoying each other too ;).

 Yup those are my babies LOL! But...those aren't silk sheets, they are Target brand sheets , I do like them though and will be buying more!

Those are some of the perks of rescue dogs, that's for sure Kristin! I was so happy to find a good rescue--I actually told my husband " yay we'll never have to have a puppy again!" lol! Then I became a foster....rofl! :D

You wouldn't regret getting a boxer! I got mine CD certified in Germany when I was there back in 86. She was a little southern belle from Tupelo Ms. I took her over with me and the Germans went nuts over her. She was from an English line of breeding. You can tell the difference if you put a German bred boxer next to an English/American boxer. I've had three boxers now...one american--one German (I rescued him on my way back from Bosnia) and one rescue from here in Savannah. My poor little Savannah rescue was abused pretty badly and I still haven't gotten him out of his shell in 3 years....but I won't quit....Boxers are the greatest and when god made them he said let there be little boxers called Boston terriers...then he went on to create the heavens and the earth....LOL;)

Hey guys...first time poster on this thread! I grew up with 2 labs which I loved dearly, and now that I'm out on my own (I'm an adult! wooo!) I'm considering getting a dog. Now, I'd love to get a lab, but I also hear they are a handful to train.

My question to you folks is what would be a good dog for me to get?

I'm not looking at getting an expensive purebred (though, nothing wrong with that). I'd likely pick up a rescue from a local shelter wherever I'm at when the time is right. But ideally, what's a good dog for me that will be a good "starter". Able to travel well is a plus, but I feel like that would be part of the training.
