Do you mean adding poles in addition to the ladder? I've used my High Country quite a few times now and never felt the need for any additional structural support. I weigh 225, and even with another person and my dog in there it laughed at the weight and asked for more

i thought that when i bought the tent, but i should confirm. follow up question, if i bought it used with cash via craigslist, without receipts, how will that hold up in their eyes? just thinking of documentation or photos i should take before something bad happens and they dont want to cover the tent

CVT's website, under accessories. I am about to do the same, but $90 shipped is kind of steep to me. maybe theres an alternative we can get at a hardware store?

id definitely check with them. Im on a plan where i update them every quarter with mileage since im on a low mileage plan as its no longer my daily. Then they ask if ive made any changes. Initially i had them look it over and provided them with online print outs of the parts i've installed and they did what they did on their end and noted it all.

Id cover the new price. Just like shipping something with insurance. I always cover the new price just for my own protection

great, this is what ill be getting.

I agree, its not a smash and grab item, but its an "ooooo fancy and look! unsecured! lets come back tonight" item. i have it parked on the street. And its white, which i want to get changed soon, so it sort of pops out at you.

On another note, anyone have experience with wrapping your hard shell RTT's? mine white and im looking to get it wrapped in a vinyl or 3M material, in a flat grey or something similar to the stock grey option that james baroud hard shells come in. Much less noticeable and sleek.

Potentially keep the very top as white? something you cant see from the side but also white to reflect sunlight and keep cooler at all times?

You don't really need to install the security/tamper resistant mounts all around. Just install on opposite corners, that would be enough of a PITA for would-be robbers to leave the tent. If they're willing/able to get through 2, they'll probably get through 4 as well.

Kinda like how people only run 1 security lug per wheel instead of 6.

Ive seen a Jeep paint the top of a hardshell tent. But it was also just a show truck.

I plastidipped my Prinsu white, and after 2 years and many tight trails, its held up decently. Also had one change of mind, and peeled half of it off, but resprayed it.
