Crazy, same area too. That's a big ass dune if I remember it right. Although both riders were going at least 60mph according to the articles and that's too fast to be riding out there, too many big drop offs that you can't see until you're too close to slow down at those speeds. Not to mention all the other riders out there.

Well, the part that got me was the driver of the ATV slammed on the brakes at the top of the dune, went off and the ATV hit him.

Don't they check ppl out before renting them out?

    Sucks.

There's a lot of drinking that happens out there, I mean it's more than half the fun of camping on the beach. Problem is a lot of people get shitfaced though and then hit the dunes and they don't really patrol that, at least not that I've seen. They patrol the beach pretty heavily to look for permits and what not but not the dunes.

Also I don't know what the criteria for renting those ATVs is, whether or not you need experience or if they just give you a 5 min crash course (pun intended unfortunately)

If they had an IQ limit, they wouldn't make half the money they make on quad rentals.

Quads are stupid dangerous for a beginner. You don't need ANY balance to ride one, so people putt putt around at 5mph thinking they have a handle on it, then they go hammer the throttle and turn then flip to the outside and the quad rolls over on top of them. With a motorcycle, it takes some time to learn the balance, but at least you instinctively learn into the corners...

As for the 60mph thing, it only said they were in a group traveling up to that fast, but that wasn't necessarily the speed at which the accident happened. Either way, too fast.

Actually came out of a Mitsubishi Pajero as they call it in Asia, here it’s the Montero.

I found it hanging from the ceiling of a shop in the auto scrapping district of Manila.

Very cool district to visit, each shop would specialize in like harnesses, engines, turbos, relays, etc.

I’ll have to figure out the wiring. Let’s hope a GM or a Ford temperature sensor will work because I have those on hand from when I did my Nissan Titan mirror.

Hey homie speaking of mirror, which gentex model do I want? Home link isn't a big deal now but I'm not opposed to it. Want compass and temp for sure.

If you don’t care about HomeLink it makes it 100x easier to get it in that configuration. I have a Gentex 313 out of a 2012 Nissan Titan, but if all you care about is compass and temperature they sell kits on eBay. I just have a rare configuration.
